> 3 dayI am so disappointed with RIT dyes. i have been using on upholstered pieces, with good results. UNTIL THIS. despite having the same name TEAL as their dye for regular, natural fabrics, this dye for synthetic fabrics is NOWHER NEAR the same color. the dye for natural fibers really was TEAL, this, also, perhaps humorously, called TEAL is pure blue. I am very disappointed and will not use RIT dyes again-- or recommend them since they cant even match their own colors!

> 3 dayI was excited to use this product. My outdoor patio set cushions were sun bleached and didn’t want to spend hundreds on new cushions. I had to buy a large 20qt pot and 4 bottles of dye to complete this project. My cushions are polyester, so the directions are much more extensive (as with any synthetic fabrics). I spent about 3.5 hours dying, 40-45 minutes boiling for each set/bottle of dye, which I don’t think was enough. I should’ve let it soak longer. I also did not have a thermometer to know if my temp was at 200°, so I was guessing what was “below boiling.” The directions are very clear, but complicated. Follow the directions and I think there will be no problems. This will definitely last me for this summer, and it has definitely evened out the color, but I was expecting more, but I blame myself for that.

Greater than one weekUsed this to die hammocks. It was a process but they came out beautiful. We used a very large, deep tamale pot to dye the hammocks w hot water and had to rinse out on the clothing line with water hose then soak in vinegar to seal color.. was a tiring process but worth it in the end.

> 3 dayI ordered the Tropical Teal dye for synthetics to dye some fabric shower curtains for my new classroom. I got the dye today and the outside of the bottle was the perfect shade! Unfortunately, when I dyed my shower curtains (all 6 of them), they came out electric blue! I am so disappointed because I thought I found the perfect color. I’m not sure if the dye I received was mislabeled or if “Tropical Teal” is actually just supposed to be electric blue.

Greater than one weekRit Dye is the best & I have used it for years. It works great in a top loader but not as good in a front loader but that makes sense because you are suppose to prepare the clothes by wetting them, mix the color well (cant do that in a front loader) Then take the wet coth or clothes and put them in the washer with the prepared dye. Let them agitate and then turn off and let them soak in the dye. You cant do any of that in a front loader. If you follow those steps and add either some White apple cider vinegar to make the dye stay, or the additive Rit makes called Rit Color Stay Dye Fixative the color will turn out great. I used a front loader once, only option available at the time, and it came out spotted tiedye looking. Dont do it. Use a top loader and you will love it.
