Rocaris 10 Pack Flap Wheel, 120 Grit for Rotary Tools，1/8 inch Shank (32X10X3)

Flap wheels are a staple in any rotary tool/flex shaft accessory kit; they offer an easy way to carve, smooth, and blend curved areas of a surface. The Rocaris 10-pack, at about $1 per wheel, is about one-half to one-third the price of my favorite name-brand flap wheels. As you might expect, theyre not quite as well put together as the more expensive versions: The glue joints can be a little uneven, the trim on the flaps can be kind of haphazard...but given the abuse these wheels get, its probably a minor issue. From what Ive seen in my first wheel, theyre not going to last as long as some, but again, at the price thats a minor issue. Less minor: They are positioned as 120-grit AlOx wheels, but as others have noted they seem more aggressive than that. The initial cutting is more like an 80-grit at least. However, after a couple hours use, they soften up to about where I expected them to be, out of the box. (Hint: If youre buying inexpensive abrasives, its ALWAYS a good idea to test them on a piece of scrap (metal, wood, glass, stone), and compare them to what youre used to.)

Currently working on refinishing some metal baseboard radiators that were looking tired and rusty. I used these in my Dremel to get at areas a palm sander couldnt get to as well as to focus in on particularly rusty spots as well as decades old paint blobs. Definitely sped up the process and reduced the pre-sanding time as I prepared the parts for new paint. Exactly what I was expecting.

Using my rotary tool, I gave it a test on some scrap wood (see photo) and it bit right in. I was able to cut a groove in seconds. So, it seems to me to be a bit more aggressive than 120 grit. I took off a star for this apparent inconsistency. Otherwise, these are a great addition to my rotary set. Better yet, Im throwing a few in my drill bag because I see them being helpful when I do something like deck building. There always seems to be a time you need to take off a little of a bad cut or find a way to get around a proud obstruction. These should do well for that purpose. I did not try it on metal. I see no reason that it wouldnt also take off rust as advertised because these have some serious bite to them.

I use this type of flap wheel all the time and have always purchased the name brand ones. It was just too tempting not to try these when I could get 10 of them for less than the price of two of the others. I was worried about durability. While they do seem to wear down slightly faster than those I had been using these are still a huge bargain.

Im using these sander heads with my Dremel tool for 3D print finishing mostly. Theyre decent quality and last longer than I would have initially expected. For the price, Theyre a decent value, too. No complaints at all. Highly recommended.

Does what it needs to do. Perfect for the do it yourselfer. Great for woodworking and other forms of hobby sanding.

these are just what they say they are and they do exactly what they are supposed to do. what more is there to say?

These sanding wheels are a go-to for using with a dremel. Happy to find a multi-pack for a reasonable price point. They are holding up well to light sanding/carving in soft woods. Overall, a great dupe for the name brand version and much more economical.

When mounted in my Dremel rotary tool and run at maximum rotational speed, one of these flap wheels did a good job in… | • … removing a patch of rust from a badly rusted piece of steel (photo 1). | • … removing the OD burr from an abrasive-wheel-cut piece of conduit (photos 2A and 2B). The wheel ran smoothly, and I detected no obvious rotational imbalance, neither at the beginning of my tests nor at the end. I can see that these wheels will be a handy addition to my rotary-tool assortment. At this point I find no fault with this product and therefore give it a full five-star rating.

These a very durable flap wheels, they are very securely glued, I suspect I could sand right down to the knub and never lose a flap. I will say the 120 grit is a very abrasive for most wood detail work and the flaps do not yield much, adding to the extra abrasive qualities of these wheels. These would probably sever better for metal detail work/projects. I wish they listed the grit size on the product, I think it might be on the back of the flaps somewhere, but the writing is so big and the flap is so small, youd never be able to read it. They should print it right on the end, or on the little sticker that lists the wheel size. Overall, a useful product, just know the 120 is very abrasive for wood detail work.
