> 3 dayGot it on a sale for a friend so I tried it out myself. Works reliably snappy and fast, but not THE fastest on the market. Roughly 2-3 times faster than my other Western Digital NVME

> 3 dayDecided to finally upgrade my boot drive from a Samsung Evo 960 250GB drive to this Sabrent Rocket NVMe 4.0 1TB, in order to install more of my favorite games on my boot drive in addition to the operating system. This drive is also a much newer generation and has WAY faster read/write speeds on paper. I still use spinning HDDs for storage and backup (an external 8TB, 2 internal 3TB, and 1 internal 4TB). Anyway, when I saw this ultra fast drive at an affordable price point with outstanding reviews I jumped on it. Sabrents Acronis cloning software was ridiculously easy to use, a few clicks and it cloned everything from my 250GB drive including the boot sector, while still maintaining the full 1TB of storage space (minus 70GB or about 7%, which is to be expected). WHen I rebooted and set this drive to the boot drive in BIOS, it booted up immediately. Overall Im extremely satisfied. IMPORTANT NOTE: My box didnt have the serial number on it, just a black box that says S/N above the model number. The serial number is on the actual drive, so make sure that you record it before installing the drive under a heat sink in order to register the drive.

> 3 dayThis is the 3rd or 4th Sabrent Rocket NVMe Ive purchased (varying from 512GB - 2TB). Performance is stellar and I cant tell the difference compared to other NVMe (WD Black, Samsung 960/970/980) brands Ive used. From copying files to loading up games, it never skips a beat.

> 3 dayI had to put a beast of a heatsink on this because of the insane amount of heat being produced. I had to reload windows once because of corrupted files. Was this because I had bad video drives that corrupted the install or was it the nvmes heat??

Greater than one weekThe drive seems to be running well having had it installed a couple days. Unfortunately, it is unclear how well supported this device is as it is necessary to register via Sabrents website. However, the website will not recognize the account I create despite me having seemingly successfully created the account. I wanted to contact Sabrent to get help. BUT you cant without a registered account. I tried to create another account using a different email address. Same problem. You have to doubt the sincerity of a company which wont let you register your account and requires an account to even contact them! Is the warranty for real? UPDATE: so I have worked out that although they ask for username and email to be entered as part of the registration process, unintuitive KT the user name you give must be identical to your email (!). With that it’s possible to register and get the warranty. Sabrent should correct this and provide a help contact email messaging contact. The drive itself is delivering the expected performance and has not disappointed. Accordingly, I am revising my rating from 2-stars to 4-stars (I will revise to 5-star if Sabrent amend their website and improve their customer service)

> 3 dayI havent gotten to my build or to testing the drive, but on unboxing it I notice a few things that bug me: 1) There is no S/N printed on the package or the included case (case seems like wasted cost honestly) 2) The heat spreader for the control chip must have been placed manually because its crooked. Sorry for the potato quality photo but you can see the PCD numbering where its evident. Not going to impact performance one iota, but its a loss for aesthetics 3) Including a manual that first talks about the heat spreader it didnt come with - I get it, the drive needs more cooling than what it has, and is either going to get that from the branded heat sink or a motherboard counterpart, but it just seems odd to put it there while selling a SKU that doesnt include the cooler. I imagine the performance once tested will be synonymous with crystal benches already posted and will update review if anything changes.

> 3 dayFast shipment but unfortunately the Sabrent 1TB Gen 4 M.2 SSD was defective and it would lock up my computer within 30 minutes of mild use most of the time it would lock within 5-10 minutes. It took me multiple evenings to troubleshoot swapping out parts in my new computer build. Finally I narrowed it down to the M.2. Tested the M.2 in another computer that is always stable and the stable computer also locked up with this M.2 after 15 minutes. I put a new M.2 in my new computer build and it is now 100% stable. This M.2 gets great reviews but I purchased a different brand as I did not want to risk getting another one from the same yield. Updated: Changing to 5 stars as it turns out it was the Windows 10 Pro build. Make sure you download at least release 1903 or later. My replacement M.2 did the same thing and after a lot of testing I was able to get it stable enough to get all the Windows 10 updates, once I got above 1903 build everything was stable. 1909 is perfect with this drive and no crashes at all! I tried 3 different M.2 brands and all of them gave the same problem until Windows 10 was updated far enough along for stability.
