TLDR; Slower than advertised speed, software doesnt work, may damage your USB-C port if connected through an enclosure. I purchased the 2TB drive for use with my PS5 and I got significantly slower speeds than advertised (4600 MB/s compared to advertised 7000 MB/s). I heard a firmware might fix this problem, so I bought a Sabrent USB 3.2 Type C enclosure to connect it to my laptop. With that enclosure, I was able to format the drive and my Windows PC recognized it and allowed me to use it as a mass storage drive. However, none of the Sabrent software, including the Firmware Update, would recognize the drive or the enclosure. After fully updating my PC and trying again to run the firmware and control panel, my USB-C port shut down entirely, neither providing power nor connecting any device through that port, such that I had to uninstall and reinstall all drivers and software associated with the USB-C port several times to get it back up and running. However, upon plugging the Sabrent enclosure and drive back in, it immediately shut down the USB-C port. AGAIN. Ive tried reinstalling the USB-C port software three times now and the port is still dead. I have a complaint with Sabrent and am expecting a quick response, otherwise I will be returning all of these products and I will never do business with this company again.

First one I ordered was a dud, neither PS5 or Windows PC could detect it. Replacement works fine. I doubt the heat sink is truly brand new, its got obvious signs of use, but I dont care - its a chunk of metal with a thermal pad, hidden away behind the plastic cover plate. Install was super easy. Make sure to watch a video first. You could easily miss a critical step with a spacer, or even have a hard time slotting the drive in. Speeds are comparable to the standard on-board SSD of the PS5, read speeds of my sample were around 6,000mb/s per the post format speed report. $170 for 1TB is absurd IMO, but what can you do? Over time these should get cheaper. Also, to my pleasant surprise, the console reads this nvme as a full 1tb, I was fully expecting 931gb. Youll want to expand the storage of your PS5, SSDs have limited write cycles, so you dont want to delete games very often, and the PS5 has an on-board SSD that can not be easily replaced. Make sure to register with Sabrent to get the 5 year warranty, 1 year is the standard.

Bought for my PS5, as several tests have shown the replacement for the M2 compartment lid also assist temps. Everything installed easily, temps are great, speed is great. If you want to buy an M2 expansion for your PS5 and know youll have no issues, this is a great one to get. It has everything you need, plus the heatsink+replacement cover combination gives you amazing thermal control. I give it five out of five Kratos shouting BOY

Easy to install. Just make sure you follow the instructions (or the many youtube videos) to make sure you dont damage your case. Wish the 4tb was cheaper, but the 2tb is good value compared to others and the heat sink is great. Performance is going well (2 months in) with not much load difference seen between the rocket and the PS5 main storage. Between this and a 5tb external, Im pretty covered for a bunch of ps5 and ps4 games.

Its easy to recommend this SSD for use in the PlayStation 5. Firstly it is incredible value for money. Secondly it offers a bundled heatsink designed for the PlayStation 5 which replaces the internal cover which aids cooler a little more than normal solutions. Finally this drive could not have been easier to install. It comes in a tin with a screwdriver which is the only tool required for the fitting of the SSD and heatsink. The process of opening the console, fitting the SSD and heatsink, closing the console case and formatting the SSD ready for use takes 10-15 minutes. In short the Sabrent SSD and PS5 heatsink is the cheapest and easiest option to upgrade your PlayStation 5 storage

I was hasty about which SSD to choose for my PS5. I watched a couple on youtube and came across a video for this one. I love it. It was a great price for the 2TB and very easy to install. Took me less than 5 minutes and would recommend this to friends. It transfers gams pretty fast and I have no complaints.
