An answer I was looking for. Unable to buckle himself or get out out of the seat. An affordable way to stop the unbuckling of the belt.

If you have a child that doesnt quite understand that taking their seat belt off is dangerous yet loves to see your reaction when they do it while youre driving, this product is for you!!! Once my son realized hed get a reaction out of me if he unlatched his seat belt while I was driving, it became impossible to drive him anywhere by myself. I had to always have someone in the car sitting next to him. Luckily, I came across this product and it changed our life (well, at least our life while driving). Now that he realizes he cant undo the seat belt, we dont have any issues in the car like we used to. He doesnt fight going into the car any more, probably because its just a much more enjoyable experience. I know I was tense with worry wondering if he was going to undo his seat belt. Im sure he picked up on that (us parents of special needs kids know how intuitive our kids are to our feelings). Such a simple device but such a huge relief!!

My son is autistic and kept getting out of his car seat. This stopped that and im so thankful!

My autistic son sometimes has tantrums and will unblock seat belt or try to slide out for the seat belt now that he’s old enough for a booster. Peace of mind when I can’t pull over right away to guide him through the tantrum. He’s upset but I know he can’t unbulk or get out from the seat belt.

It’s great for toddlers that like to unbuckle the seat belt. My toddler son has tried many times & couldn’t unbuckle it. I love it & now don’t have to worry if he’s going to unbuckle the seat belt while I’m driving.!

This is a must have product for anyone with a special needs child that constantly unbuckles themself. My 6 year old with nonverbal autism was repeatedly unbuckling her 5 point harness car seat no matter what I did to try and prevent her from unbuckling. We decided to switch her to the regular seat belt in a booster seat and so far after installing this buckle device, she hasn’t been able to get out of the lap portion of the belt. She can still remove the shoulder part of the belt, but at least with the lap portion still on she can’t get out of her seat while I’m driving.

I bought this because I have a 7 year old who independently buckles herself into the car and she sits right next to a car seat that is secured using the cars belt buckle system. I was concerned that my daughter might unknowingly unbuckle the seatbelt that secures the car seat when trying to unbuckle herself. I realize the ultimate solution is to check to make sure the car seat is secured by the car seatbelt buckle every time I put my child into the 5-point harness car seat. Unfortunately, if Im capable of accidentally driving down the road before realizing I forgot to buckle my baby (true story at least once), I dont trust myself to remember to check the car seat every time. So, I wondered if there was a way to protect me from this situation. Of course, yes, a product exists! I installed the car seat with this in place. It works exactly as expected and weve had no unbuckling incidents. The only downside is you need a key or something small/flat to insert into the lock when you want to release the car seatbelt (I dont believe it came with such a tool). In the event of an emergency, I think I would be nervous to have one of these installed on a child who uses the car seatbelt directly. But I understand sometimes its necessary for those who have a child that will not keep the seatbelt fastened otherwise. Overall, I would recommend this product! I am happy for this invention and the added protection it provides my family.

One buckle safe we ordered had a knob on it. It did not work well with other buckles that were close to one another. After riding this one it was convenient, easy and worked ok all the buckles Instead of one. Which allowed our son to choose which seat, over limiting his seating in the car!

This is perfect for using with my daughter who has Down Syndrome. She is safely locked in her seat and has a harder time terrorizing her brother in the other side of the seat. (Lol). I feel more at ease cuz she doesn’t just get out of her seat and bounce around the back seat while I’m driving down the road. She no longer peeks over my shoulder and stick her head out my window as I am ordering then paying at the drive thru. (Yikes!). I make her look away so she can’t see how I “unlock” it. She is not as happy riding in the car but at least she is safe. Just an FYI, I have a 2016 Honda CR-V. It does not exactly line up and install easily. I didn’t really want to send it back cuz it is clearly well made and so I put it on the “male” end and then clip it and I am able to wiggle it around until it clicks. I would have given it 5 stars if it fit better. It still works.
