A few months after purchase I noticed that some of my data became unreadable when doing my backup. Taking a look at the Magician utility revealed that the drive was encountering an awful lot of ECC errors. Since the return window was already over and apparently theres no proper warranty in Canada for the drive either (thats what Canada Version means) I decided to keep it around to see whether its just some blocks that were damaged from the get go.

The last Samsung SSD I purchased is still going strong after 5 years but I have purchased another one to upgrade storage. Cannot go wrong with these SSDs for gaming or personal use!

It turns out my pc become superfast.

Upgraded our business PC’s hard drive and the data migration was so seamless we decided to update another identical model machine. Data could be written and read from the drive manually, but the migration app would unmount it and it would reconnect with a “USB device malfunctioned error.” The Samsung magician app displays info on the drive like it’s serial number, but says it cannot be authenticated (magician thinks it’s counterfeit). Some reviewers here have his error, and some people online said the error went away when they manually updated the firmware - if you look up how to upgrade the firmware without magician you’ll find that it is a total nightmare and there is no Samsung documentation on it.

It’s really good at storing stuff

plugged it up using an adapter, formatted it to my xbox which took like 2 seconds, then i downloaded gta 5 in like 12 minutes. blazing fast i couldn’t ask for better.

Amazon ordering process was great and the SSD was delivered the next morning from when i ordered it, WOW how great is that! The Samsung SSD was easy to install and the Samsung cloning software worked GREAT. I used a SSD mounting bracket also purchased from Amazon The Corsair Dual SSD Mounting Bracket 3.5 CSSD-BRKT2. This bracket has all the mounting screws needed for the SSD and bracket mounting.

The installation was super easy, not a single problem with the Samsung software.
