IF your computer is still viable, replace your hard disk with SSD. It takes a huge energy load off your computer, and boosts performance in general. The Samsung is above middle of the road for hard drive storage, and for the price... so worth it.

I plan to buy another SSDs for my desktop PC soon. The boot times along with load times of apps and other things is unreal due to the fact that this SSD is much better then what I had before. If youre looking for a 500GB SSD theres no reason to look any further.

> 24 hourHad use another brand before, but had issue with the reliability and errors. Glad to have returned to the Samsung. Its fast and have had no issues thus far. Looking to replace all boot disks to SSD on several other PCs.

> 24 hourI use this as the OS disk on a file server. It runs the main OS plus a few VMs. Performance is very noticeably faster than a platter-based traditional HDD. VMs are very snappy in response time.

Since then my computer died (after 16 years of use), and I found my new PC found the drive (via USB/SATA connector). works fine (though of course at USB speeds.
