Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

Bought to add capacity to a storage pool. Fast and a good value. That said, there are less expensive options out there (including from Samsung) if you are willing to sacrifice some performance.

Ive had the Samsung EVO 860 1TB SSD 2.5 inch SATA III drive installed and running for ~2 months. Since it replaced a 1TB hard drive on a 6 year old laptop with a BIOS motherboard that only supports SATA I and Windows 10 (version 1803 rs4; Spring 2018 Creators Update). I cant speak much for performance, other than it does perform at the maximum speed allowed by the SATA I controller. I can say that the SSD is very reliable so far, with no downtime or performance issues to date. The physical installation, including opening the laptop, removing the old hard drive, installing the new SSD, and closing it up, took me about 30 minutes total, with no problems at all for that part of the upgrade.

This 1 TB SSD works just an anticipated in my ASUS N550 and is quite easy to install; definitely will buy similar products again from Samsung. Just as a friendly reminder, in order to transfer the existing data from your PC to this SSD, a SATA III to USB A cable is required.

Works great and it is easy to install. I have several for various machines and they all work fine. Much better than a old mechanical hard drive.

La velocidad de lectura escritura del disco es muy buena, antes de este disco tenia un Samsung de 500GB, lo usé por tres años y medio sin ningún problema, la razón del cambio fué el aumento de capacidad. Use el software de Samsung para clonar el sistema operativo y en un par de horas tenia nuevamente el computador portatil funcionando con el nuevo disco. Instalé el software Samsung Magician y le active el sobre aprovisionamiento recomendado. Volveré a comprar este producto para otro PC portatil que uso en casa.

Excelente disco sólido lo tengo como segundo disco un poco caro pero es lo mejor en ssd.

Amazing delivery from Amazon Prime. Item arrived within 3 days from order instead of the scheduled 6 days. The SSD is worth it as it is so much faster than the conventional hard disk and seems to be a very reliable product so far. Well worth the money.

Simply one of, if not the best, hard drives money can buy IMHO. I have one in every computer (6) I own. Yeah, you could find cheaper, but reliability and performance is unmatched. Samsung has an easy to use interface which allows you to configure settings to your preference. You cannot go wrong with this drive.

My PC used to have a traditional hard disk drive, which served its purpose well - except when it came to booting up the system which, due to the multitude of recording and instrument software, would take 2+ minutes to start up. Even switching to a Solid State Hybrid Drive only reduced the boot time by about 10 seconds - still unacceptable. The Samsung SSD goes from zero to ready in an average of 12 seconds! Thats more like it. Data transfer rates are also exceptional. If you are considering moving up to an SSD, the Samsung has a great track record, which is why I bought it in the first place.
