Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

Bought it to replace the hard drive in my HP Pavilion laptop that failed after only 2-3 years. So far, so good. Boot time greatly improved, so much that I actually turn my computer off now when Im not using it. Easy to install after watching a YouTube video, however I do have a little bit of IT background.

Exactly what I needed

As received the drive worked well an is very fast. As far as longevity of the drive, I dont know yet. When using a solid state drive as your main drive be sure to back up your data more often as compared to a mechanical hard drive. Solid state drives tend to have a shorter live span, especially if you write and erase large blocks of data every day.

My aging laptop drive was taking ages to boot and it had thrown a few errors. Having worked out that a decent replacement with SSD was going to set me back more than $1200, I decided to give the DIY upgrade a try before shelling out so much money - boy am I glad that I chose this SSD.

I recently purchased 2 of these 860 EVO 500 GB SSDs for $60 each for use in my Colorado small business. I was upgrading from older model Samsung 128 and 256 GB SSDs for more storage space. This SSD is fast with high write-cycle endurance, using the latest flash technology.

The software that Samsung made available allows you to clone your entire hard drive including the operating system. Once done, just remove the old hard drive and put in the SSD which fits in the same holder as your old drive then turn the computer back on and enjoy its new speed. Best $55 I ever spent on a computer (did it on my wifes also)

Worked great, replaced an old 5400rpm HD on a laptop and now it’s fast again.

Once installed this item is very nice and it makes gaming more pleasant on an older pc and it doesnt strain the power supply.

I’ve bought a few of these over the last couple of years. They hold up well, super easy to install. Worth the price
