10-06-2025Ive used 2 Samsung T5s and they were great. So why not go up to a T7. This thing had trouble being detected by my PC to even download any of the footage, it overheats constantly stopping me from filming things after 10 minutes, the videos arent detected when the SSD is detected, and when I finally get them uploaded they have red and black bars all over them despite I have the correct Blackmagic plugin. I never had these issues with the T5.

> 3 dayKeep it backed up. Mine only lasted for 2 years. I certainly didnt buy a 2-year SSD but thats what happened. The thing gets treated well. It never goes anywhere, it even got a little cover on it. Of course, its out of warranty. But this drive should have lasted for way longer than two years. If Samsung or Amazon would like to do something helpful with this that would help. It should have lasted way longer.

Greater than one weekThis SSD is of high quality and compact. USB 3.2 data transfer speed allows you to get jobs done quickly. The accompanying software would not install on an M1 MacBook. This tends to be a problem generally and need not be prohibitive because the drive works without the software. Setting up encryption, if this is what you want to do, can be done without the software. The drive functions out of the box on a PC or Mac, but you might want to format it specifically for the system you are using to gain optimal performance. The price of drive tends to fluctuate, so wait for a deal.

Greater than one weekI was trying to dual-boot to windows on my MacBook Pro, the problem was I did not have much internal storage and you can’t add a drive to your windows partition after it’s made, after a bit of research there is an easy process to follow if you’d like to boot from external drive such as this and this drive is perfect for the task!
