SAMSUNG T5 Portable SSD 1TB - Up to 540MB/s - USB 3.1 External Solid State Drive, Black (MU-PA1T0B/AM)

This external drive is amazing. I wanted something I could add to my nvidia shield to watch movies locally using my Plex server. Ive tried other hard drives and flash drives but i have never been satisfied. This drive is about the size of a credit card. When I did a bench test, it was almost as fast as my laptops internal SSD. If you need a fast SSD drive and will to spend the money, you wont be disappointed.

I think the price is more than fair for a full TB of storage, and was really pleased with the optional data protection/encryption you can apply to this hard drive. Great product!

This is a great product but the USB connection is starting to get very finicky. It’s gotten very wobbly, and I’m not sure how long it’s going to last. Lots of money for a wobbly drive connection.

absolutely love these things. currently own two of them.

I plugged this in and it worked out of the box, great. Then, after transferring 300GB to it I realized the file format was exFAT, which some products like Carbonite dont recognize. I suggest reformatting before use.

This SSD was recognized immediately by the Microsoft Surface Book. I immediately loaded it up with about 750GB of music and pictures. No problems or glitches. Unlike some SSDs Ive tried, the transfer rate was very stable during the entire transfer. This review is based on using this drive for about a week. Ill revise it, if anything changes down the road.
