Greater than one weekThis portable storage unit works great and is fast. I havent tried putting it though the ringer on purpose to see if it will eat a terabyte as fast as possible but as far as moving up to 40 gigs at a time it has been perfect and not gotten hot or anything.

> 3 dayQuality of product is not good. Good portable high speed device. Device cost is too high.

> 3 dayAfter a lot of personal testing with large multi gig files Ive found that this drive tends to stop working after a bit. The problem is its too fast for itself, it generates too much heat and shuts down mid transfer. Im assuming its heat because it becomes a bit warm to the touch.

> 3 dayI was able to copy data to this from a Mac, and then unable to access it through the Mac! Samsung’s tech support didn’t mention that the software required to access the sad, was no longer compatible with Mac’s OS. They also said that it had to be plugged in every few weeks to retain the data. Be careful! It seemed so nice and compact, that I’d bought another one before finding out this.

> 3 dayAbsolutely love this little thing. Small enough to pack with your phone and big enough to back up everything important. The USB-C also makes it easy enough to tie to a laptop for a cloud backup as well. You are using multiple backup sources right?

> 3 dayConstantly disconnects when connected to an iMac. I connect it, it works, I walk away and come back the next day - it is not mounted, requiring unplugging and replugging to function again. I have a Sandisk SSD connected to the same iMac and it works well and never does this.
