> 24 hourOur builders took the cheap way out and spaced our floor support the maximum they could, which made it hard to do ceramic tile when we remodeled our kitchen. This helped make it possible and the floors look AMAZING!

> 24 hourThis was recommended to us by a tiler working a neighbors house. We used it because another neighbor had had a lot of trouble with cracked tiles and we wanted to avoid that. It was easy to put down -- a lot easier than cement backer board -- and the tile went down on top of it with no problem. A warning: if you are doing the work yourself and plan to take your time, be aware that the orange stuff is not comfortable to walk on without shoes!

> 24 hourI have completed several tile jobs using the Ditra underlayment, after using cement board for years. The huge benefit is that it can be cut with a razor blade, although it still needs to be cemented down to the subfloor using thinset (as cement board does). The difficult, and time consuming part is trying to fill in all of the squares with thinset when laying the tile. You must move the trowel back and forth in all directions to get the air bubbles out and get every square filled in with thinset. It is very aggravating! I guess its still easier than cutting cement board to fit and installing all the screws in the cement board.

> 24 hourFirst time I have ever used this material as I have always used cement sheets. I like the way it went down and it has had tile on it for 7 months with no problems. I used this on my house since I wanted the floor to be problem free with no cracks in the tile so far I am very happy and have recommended it to another tile installer and he is now using it. It is kind of expensive but if it eliminates customer problems then I will be happy.

> 24 hourExpensive, but makes for planing out my 3/4 hardwood floors perfectly with my tile with no over mudding required. Saves time to put in OSB flooring + Ditra XL vs laying a ton of hardibacker on top of OSB or plywood floors. Plus it weighs very little. Tip. prefill waffles the night before you tile and let dry. Then next day you can walk on it and tile right over. I will never use anything else (other than maybe Ditra Heat for my next bathroom or tile floor applications
