> 3 dayThis is approx. 10mm pieces of pumice which is one type of volcanic rock mined in western USA states. If you live in those areas it’s very inexpensive, but living in eastern areas of USA, shipping can be extremely cost-prohibitive. I use pumice for my succulents (I have amassed an extremely large collection—hundreds). I order it in 3-gallon bags from General Pumice for around $30–the majority of that cost is shipping which is included in the price. That same 3-gallon bag would cost approx. $6 if I lived closer to where it is mined. It comes in a variety of forms—almost powdered tiny granules for making your own DIY exfoliating products (just add it to your body or face wash and viola!) and many other sizes and forms. So if you have a lot of tanks, this will save you a lot of money. I’m not affiliated with the company in any way; I’m just a grateful and loyal customer. In my opinion, these tiny jars are a huge rip-off. It’s a great product, just exorbitantly over priced.

> 3 daySmall bottle with not much inside. Most of it was dust and rinsed out. The rocks are very small with little surface area. Total waste of money. Go for biomax or biohome instead.

> 3 dayI’ve always had an issue with high nitrates in my tank despite frequent water changes. I tried infused media pads but they never worked so I figured I would try MATRIX. I’m glad I did! Got my nitrates down from 80 to 20 in just under 2 weeks and still falling. I’m happy this works!!!!

> 3 dayI like that it is easy media to clean during maintenance time and that it doesn’t need to be changed as often as other products!

> 3 dayBest filtration media you can use IMO (and the research seems to back this statement up). Particularly if you have a canister filter (because of the anaerobic possibilities), although it works fine with a HOB filter so long as it has space to fit enough of this rather large media.
