i bought this to save my photos to but it doesnt work very well. it keeps saying it has hours left. when those hours pass it adds on another few hours. i have no idea what to do or what its doing but something is definitely not right

It connected very easily and has been easy to use but I thought I was getting 4 TB of storage - not quite

For someone who isnt very computer literate the user manual is a bit confusing. Took me a while to make sure I was actually backing up my computer.

Its very slow and it loves to go to sleep which causes applications to lockup waiting for it to wake back up. Get only 60MB/s or so. I try to keep the drive awake even by writing uptime to it every 5 minutes but still it loves to fall asleep. Id avoid and get a different drive. Loves to lock up at 100% disk use as well.

Very easy to use and operate! If your looking for extra storage space id definitely recommend this item!

Not good

I used this as an exterior hard drive for my PlayStation 4 original. This works really well for about 5 months and then it started having trouble with storing new games that I bought on the Play Store and reading files. I had just over three terabytes worth of PS4 games saved on there and maybe it was just too much even though it says 4 terabytes. I have used the two terabyte model for the same purpose from Seagate and that one seems to be working much better. So I can recommend the two terabyte hard drive from Seagate for this purpose but for some reason the 4 terabyte hard drive really struggles with prolonged daily use. This may not be for every hard drive I could have just gotten a dud but be warned because its expensive device.
