> 3 dayThis is my first pair of higher end Sennheiser headphones, but Im very experienced with headphones in this price class and a bit higher (Ive owned K701, DT880, DT770, SR325i, ESW9, and more). I currently have an first generation aune t1 dac/amp that Im running off of my computer to power these headphones. No dedicated amp at the moment! The HD598 are a decent bit louder than the K701 with the volume set at the same levels on my T1 and my computer. It doesnt seem like an impossible to drive headphone, but its probably not something youd want to use with a smartphone. This headphone has detachable cables -- one shorter one with a more typical 3.5mm jack and a longer one with a quarter inch plug. These headphones are very very light but are very generously padded. There is a wide range of adjustment on the headband size, so it should fit heads of all sizes. Ive worn these for about 2 or 3 hours at a time already, and they have been very comfortable. To note, these are one of the only sets of headphones (non-earbuds) where I can hear the microphonics at a significant volume. The sound stage is very wide! It seems to be pretty close to the K701 in my testing. When putting on the headphones, theres almost no muffling of outside sounds at all, which definitely contributes to the headphones sounding like youre using speakers. The sound coming out seems very balanced. It sounds like theres a bit more bass and a bit more treble than what I would call a flat frequency curve. Overall, great sound and comfort!

Greater than one weekThe single best thing about these headphones is the comfort. These are by far the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. The Sennheisers are just perfectly shaped; not round, but more oval. That shape perfectly fit my ears (kinda big ones), and the headband support to clamping force ratio is so perfect that these basically feel like they just float on my head. In addition, these headphones are extremely light, and have a light non-coiled cord so they dont drag your head down with the cord weight. For comparison, my Beyerdynamic 770 Pros (220 Ohm) have a coiled cable and that adds significant extra weight to the headphone as it sits on your head. The Beyerdynamics are also not even close to as comfortable. This comfort comes straight out of the box; no need to buy other earpads like on Audio-Technica and V-Moda headphones. The velour pads are heaven on your ears. The critical: These headphones are not for listening to bass heavy music, or in my opinion even Rock. The sound reproduction is extremely flat, and compared to most headphones I was familiar with the highs are more pronounced. My father is a classical pianist and he was absolutely blown away by these headphones; He said they are significantly better than his previously preferred Bose headset. Personally, I use these for a computer gaming headset, and for that purpose they are great. I also hate the removable cable design. Why cant it just be like the exterior 3.5mm jack on the Audio-Technica headphones? Mind boggling to me, but in the end it is a small concern (unless you need a longer cable...).

> 3 dayWorks great with PS4 controller almost unfair how comfortable the headphones sit on the ears. As someone who also wears glasses and have had to not use other headphones because they pinch the glasses to the ears, youll not have that problem with these headphones. Using this as both headphones for my PC and my ps4 they make both sound great Coming from corsair RGB wireless theres a little loss from having digital surround sound going back to stereo sound can be felt but also at the same time the stereo sounds pretty awesome.

> 3 dayBest Headphone Ive ever used. The fact that I can change the cable (and I already bought 2 replacement cables in adition to the 2 that comes) is extremely important to me. Sennheiser quality at its best.

> 3 dayWorking great. If you can get this product for a good deal, I would recommend it. I have glasses, and had problems with other headphones squeezing too tightly, making the glasses uncomfortable but this pair is light enough that it stays on, but doesnt press hard.
