Sennheiser HD 650 - Audiophile Hi-Res Open Back Dynamic Headphone

I needed a set of phones that would have an accurate reference sound for mixing. Several friends had recommended the Hd-650s so I bought a set. Not bad at all!!! Impressive. Comfortable! Highly recommended.

First one has intermittent cracking sound in one of the ears. The replacement is great.

These headphones have officially blown my mind. I have them attached to a xonar stx and set the impedence to 300-600 ohms. It has truly changed the game.

Voici des années que je cherchais un casque pour pouvoir mixer et donc un casque qui respecte tout le spectre sonore tout en ayant une large image stéréo. Je viens de trouver tout ceci dans ce casque. Dune très belle qualité de fabrication dans les moindres détails, confortable, ce casque est un bijou.

If you mostly play highly compressed MP3 files and plug your headphones straight into your computer, buy cheaper headphones.

I own a number of audiophile standard headphones including Beyerdynamic T1 Tesla, Denon AHD7000 and the relatively new Shure SRH1540. In truth I didnt really need to buy these other than to satisfy my curiosity about how good they actually are after reading a zillion reviews lauding their capability and reputation as THE reference headphone.

These are the best phones Ive ever had, and not the most expensive. I record sound and video for a living, and spend hours listening and editing. The frequency response is very even, and the midrange has the detail I need when editing. I use them strictly at my desk, since the open back design doesnt block external sound, and they leak too much for tracking. I find the cups very comfortable, even after hours of use. No break in time was needed for the sound quality I need.

Ridiculous, one of a kind sound. The only qualm I have with them is how tightly they grasp your head. Overall phenomenal headphones.

I was really disappointed that a pair of $315 headphones especially for mixing because of the open back you can hear all of the noise unless you have around proof apartment. I have a pair of AKG 240 KII that cost $120 and a pair of KRK KNS-8400 $125 that are incredable and a pair of Young Guru for $260 that put these to shame, I was really surprised these are Sennheisers

Using this with my Fiio M9 and sometimes my mobile phone.
