> 3 dayThis thing is amazing and listening to music at such a high quality isnt something i havent thought of doing before but this really is worth the 500 dollars. But get a dac/amp if you want this thing to sound as good as it can be.

> 3 dayI have really enjoyed my Sennheiser headphones, the sound quality is excellent. I have purchased replacement ear cushions a few times as the original ones dont last forever and after trying to wash them, they were just gross. But these headphones are worth every penny!

> 3 dayI have never been a big fan of headphones. When I first use them for listening to music they seem to sound good at first but after about 15 or so minutes the sound seems shrill and I get a headache. Mostly I use headphones for tracking sessions in my recording studio and listen to music for pleasure over my speakers. The HD 660s arrived yesterday. My past experience with so called Audiophile headphones has found them to be only marginally better than inexpensive ones. To give them the best test platform I could I tested them with my Pono player, listening to the 24bit FLAC remaster of American Beauty by the Grateful Dead. I hit play and Box Of Rain started. WOH, dude! I was flooded. I have had the MFSL vinyl version of AB since it came out so I am used to audiophile quality pressings of this album but I have never heard it like through these headphones. The clarity and definition is truly staggering. I jumped ahead to the vocally intensive Attics Of My Life. It was so clear I could hear the singers breathing and and for the first time could recognize the voice of each singer in the harmonies. After that I listened to Portugal, The Man, Dark Side of the Moon, Pet Sounds, Revolver and Hippopotamus, the new Sparks album. Every one was amazing through these headphones. After listening to all that I realized that after several hours listening I hadnt developed the noise hangover every other set of headphones has given me for the last 50 years. I decided to give them a real test. Everyone knows that you dont mix studio tracks in headphones but I decided to give it a try. Every instrument and voice sounded clear and distinct as I mixed them into a master recording. In the past Ive gotten mixes with headphones that sounded great in the headphones but not so much anyplace else. This mix I put on a thumb drive to test in my favorite listening environment, my car. It was perfect which means that what I heard in the headphones was accurate and uncolored. I didnt think that level of accuracy was possible with headphones. I am completely impressed all around. While to some they may seem a bit pricey, they are so good that in fact they are a bargain for what you get. You may never be able to listen through other headphones ever again. Most highly recommended!

> 3 dayThe tonality of the music played through these headphones was wonderful. It was musical, rich, vibrant, even. The soundstage however was about as compressed as Ive ever heard it. Ive had a better soundstage on $50 IEMs than on these. It sounded flattened to a pancake, compressed to oblivion, music utterly reduced to a poor two dimensional approximation of its former self.

> 3 dayI have tried/owned the following: PC37X, HD598, HD599, HD600, HD650, HD700, HD800, HD 6XX, HD 58x and MANY others from other brands. The 660S is overall, the best headphone Ive heard. It has no flaws. The tuning is what I would consider as perfect as you can get for a dynamic driver. No harsh highs, no recessed mids, no overpowering bass. Amazing imaging. Comfortable as any other HD variant. Better looking than any other HD variant.

> 3 dayThey sound nice if you dont care about bass. These seem to be built well. The item itself looks extremely high quality. Even though some music genres, podcasts etc sound very good, theres absolutely no bass whatsoever.

> 3 dayI bought these to round out a podcasting system (mic boom, mic and new headphones). The headphones sound great! But, what I discovered, after plugging into a mic that also has an amplifier built in, was that the stock sound out of my computer only used about 80% of the capacity of these headphones. So, if youre purchasing these as a stand alone headphone set with a separate amplifier, theyll still sound great, but not as good as they are capable of sounding.
