I ordered another set of latches first that were advertised as black stainless steel. They were plastic. These are all metal and they are made really well. Not disappointed at all.

Better than factory latches.

Ill keep this review short and simply say that these latches look great, are pretty easy to install, and solved my problem of having dull faded OEM latches. Below are are few steps that may help with your install. 1. check the rubber gasket (for bottom bracket) to ensure it is correct for your model JL or JK. 2. Remove the bottom bracket allen bolts (small ones) from hinge to access the larger allen bolt that goes through lower body panel. 3. Put a piece of tape on the back of nut (bottom bracket) before inserting into 13mm socket. Should prevent nut from falling off socket. 4. Align nut in socket with lower panel hole (reaching behind panel with ratchet). 5. Align bottom bracket* allen bolt with panel hole and taped nut. Easier than trying to fish for threads with nut. *Ensure bottom bracket flat side is down 6. Attach bottom bracket hinge with (small) allen bolts. 7. Attach top bracket. 8. Adjust top bracket (up/dpwn) as needed to get secure fit.

I put these on our 2014 jeep wrangler Jk and they look great! They only thing is the rust that has already occurred during the winter. They’ve been on the jeep for a month or so. Other then the rust they hold up really well. Probably will get another set for the back but I’ll make sure this time to clear coat them first to help with rust.
