This is better than that $2 harlot in Vegas! Doesn’t stop sucking!

Got my wide this for a birthday gift ( she wanted it) first time she used it the sweeper vacuumed up so deep in the carpet it stood the fibers straight up. Couldnt believe the super fine partials it brought up that our other vacuum didnt touch. Nice length on cord , easy to assemble, easy to clean ...great so far.

This is a must-need if you have dogs. My house is always full of pets and kids, and this will clean up any mess on my vinyl and carpet floors.

Has great suction for bare floors, picks up everything. The head is difficult to get under beds and furniture, it is thick or to tall. Like others have said, the hose is very rigid and makes using the wand difficult. The handle makes using the attachments difficult. It is big and clunky and at a wierd angle.

We like the power but this vacuum is much heavier than you would think it should be. So far its working as advertised against hair. Maneuvering is more difficult than some weve used - the twisting requires significant wrist strength.

Several years ago, I bought a big, upright Kenmore vacuum because I have two cats and Consumer Reports rated it highly. Maybe it was great at first, but it was heavy and cumbersome and the expensive bags filled up quickly. I vacuumed a lot less than I should have because it was a hassle to use. On Black Friday, I decided to look for something lighter and easier to use. CR recommended the Shark Vertex, and at half price, I took it. The first time I used it, I unpacked as few parts as I could because I was sort of expecting it not to be as good as the big Kenmore and I wanted it to be easy to repackage and return. I turned it on and WOW! It was so light! It propelled itself across the carpet easily, requiring me to only pull it back towards me. It can be converted like a Transformer for every vacuuming need by pressing clearly labeled buttons. There are no bags to buy, and emptying it is quick and easy. It has three attachments that work beautifully, and a simple slider to move easily between thick carpet, low pile carpet, and bare floors. But the BEST PART is that I could *literally feel with my bare feet* that the carpet was MUCH cleaner than the old Kenmore ever accomplished, and that is golden. There is only one thing that could be improved: a more flexible hose or a hose extension when you detach the handle to use the add-on accessories. This is a minor flaw, but everything else about this vacuum is so good, this one little thing could be better. So now Im vacuuming more than ever because its not only easy--it is almost fun!

This is a great vacuum! I was so surprised at the amount of pet fur and dirt it picked up the first time I used it. I would recommend this vacuum.

What a difference this vacuum has made. In the past I would have to dust every day, dust so thick you could write your name in it and this happened even when vacuuming every day. This vacuum fixed the problem. I love it!! It is so easy to switch from bare floor to rug cleaning. The rug cleaning works great also. Vacuum is a little heavy but it is a great trade off for the suction. The only thing I do not like is the hair wrapping around the small rubber tires in the front of the vacuum. I have a constantly shedding border collie and cat and hair is everywhere. When I vacuum the hair winds around the small rubber wheel axles. I have to clean it out by using tweezers. I hope the future models of Shark have an easier way to clean this wheels.

I need a powerful vacuum for my high pile carpet, it worked well on low pile and would do well with medium pile. While this is powerful and has great suction, it doesn’t work for high pile carpet. This vacuum is very heavy. Make sure you pick up anything you don’t want sucked into the vacuum because the second it gets close it’s too late. It is self propelling but it really pulls and it takes some effort to pull it back. I detached the base to use it as a handheld, but even that piece is really heavy. The hose isn’t very long so you have to carry the base with you. It has no wheels and tips over easily. This vacuum is very solid and well made, it just doesn’t work for me. I’m returning it.

- IN A GOOD WAY! So, I just received this vacuum and WOW. Its super easy to put together. Super easy to change attachments. I am very pleased how easily it transitions from carpet to hard floor. I vacuumed my whole 3000 sq foot house, couches, stairs & mattress yesterday! No hair was wrapped around the brushes after I finished. The attachments are a god send for stairs. I have a 90s model Kirby and this thing has more suction than that! It IS somewhat heavy but the ease of removing the canister and vacuuming in separate parts help - (also easy to get under the beds & things while separated.) Plus, this is why it is so powerful = bigger motor. It came with a hepa filter and 2 washable filters. The dirt bin is very easy to clean under water. The power cord was plenty long enough. Anyway, I love it so far. Will update if that changes.
