> 3 dayMy old Shark APEX had a malfunctioning powerhead after two years of extremely heavy pet home use. I loved it and it would suck up small children if they got in the way! Couldnt get a new powerhead due to supply issues and really needed another vacuum in our three dog household. I decided on a new model, the Shark SRATOS, which was supposed to be as powerful and comparable to my old APEX. Pros: Its not quite as heavy as my old APEX. Hair doesnt get stuck in the brushroll, so the self cleaning brushroll description is accurate. It has a very long cord which makes it easier to vacuum large spaces without unplugging and replugging. It came with a separate pet hair head for the removable hose (which I never have used). The Odor Neutralizing feature was okay, though other reviewers reported they couldnt get replacement cartridges. (I havent tried to order a new one yet) Cons: Out of the box I could tell it was not as high quality, even though it was a bit pricier than my old one. Its lighter weight, feels plasticy, and more cheaply made (the removable suction wand is starting to not click back in to the vacuum after 3 months of use). It doesnt suck up small items like gravel, popcorn kernels, pet food, wood chips (or children) like the APEX does. And while, as advertised, the rubber brushroll doesnt collect pet hair, somehow it gets stuck between the front of the vacuum and the plush brushroll which never happened on my old APEX. All in all, I do like it and would recommend it but if I hadnt owned an older (by only two years) model Shark this one wouldve gotten 5 stars instead of 4.

Greater than one weekEasy to use, comes apart easily for cleaning and using just hose. Incredible suction, cleans carpets better than all the expensive Vacuums we’ve tried (Dyson, etc). Great value, we’ll see how it lasts, but I highly recommend this vacuum after many pricey disappointments.

> 3 dayIll start by saying this is an incredible vacuum. We have dogs (two doodles) and thick carpet as well as laminate flooring with area rugs. Before this, we had a cheaper Hoover (under 150$). I felt it was not doing a sufficient job so I started reading up on higher end vacs. I landed on this one after seeing reviews showing this vacuum beating out Dysons and anything else put up against it. They said it was excellent for both carpet and hardwood, and was the best at picking up hair without the beater getting tangled. These were all true, so here are my pros and cons: Pros: -Great suction. The pic shows the reservoir being full...this was from JUST a 12x12 thick carpeted room, 5 MINUTES after vacuuming the same room with my Hoover. -I do not have any issues on our very thick carpet with the vacuum sucking too hard and making it tough to push. I saw some reviews that state that...they likely pushed the button and have the beater turned off so it wont pull itself, or they have it set to the wrong flooring type. This is the main reason I chose this over a Dyson, I have seen far more reviews on Dysons being very tough to push. -LOVE the maneuverability. You can pop the whole canister off and carry it, or just the top and use the hose attached to the vac. Also very easy to turn and go under tables and stuff. -No fanning. What I mean is that with every other vacuum Ive used, if you were on a hard surface, the beater put out so much air that it just blows all the dust and debris out of the way so you never suck it up. This works awesome on hardwood when you put it in that mode, and only one beater spins to pick up debris. Cons: -This thing is ugly as hell. The engineer that designed the functionality features is a genius. I believe after they designed it, they let a 90 year old lady choose the color scheme. Seriously, why would you have a grey vac, with rose gold touches and a blue roller? If I had shopped in store I wouldnt have even considered a vacuum at this price point with those colors solely based on looks. Dysons are so much more appealing if youre simply going off looks. -Reservoir size. The reservoir is fricken tiny. If you have a large house or more than one dog, you will either need to vacuum every week or empty the canister a couple times during use. Only the front and top portions of the canister are actually to collect debris, most of it is taken up by the motor. -The cord. Yeah, its super long which is great. But why are we still making cords the EXACT length to where you have to wind it up super loose to attach the plug to another cord. Make it 2 shorter or longer, so annoying. -Wheels. The back wheels are stupid. Theyre tiny plastic wheels that wannabe a dyson ball but arent. If rolls around like a ball, but when turning one of the wheels lifts off the floor and its like youre kind of lifting the vacuum. I believe their goal was to mimic a Dyson ball without infringing on patents, but its a cheesy way to do so. As you can see, my cons are slightly petty but still sort of annoying. Luckily, a vacuum isnt particularly for pleasing the eye. Overall this is awesome vacuum in terms of functionality, and I would highly recommend to any friends or family to snag one of these if they can afford it.

> 3 dayThis cleans the floors better than my old vacuum. It has a roller brush that works great on the hard floors , but it also transitions to my rugs with ease. The canister can be removed from the base so you can easily get under couches and beds... also has a long wand that can reach high places. Longer power cord then my old one as well makes it super easy to get around the house better. It comes with only a few attachments, so do your homework and order the ones that you may need. Overall great buy and I am so happy we decided to buy this with all the options out there .

Greater than one weekThis is Shark’s top of the line vacuum. It lives up to it’s reputation, but looses a star for it’s weight and noise. The good: - Powerful. Dyson is often cited as the king of powerful vacuums. But I’ve used Dysons and this is easily on par with those. - Great pick up. This is the most important part of any vacuum and this does a GREAT job. This picked up things my old vacuum missed. I thought the floor was cleaned but wow, I guess it wasn’t. - LED Lights. These are very handy for seeing dirt in dark corners and under furniture - Lift-away. This is something Shark’s done for a few years now. The ability to detach the bin and use it almost like a consider vacuum is very handy if you want to reach under furniture, for doing stairs, and reaching high places. - The rubber rollers really don’t tangle - Easy to empty bin. It pops off easily, you push a button to open it, then it snaps closed without issue. Easy and clean. - Filters are easy to access and clean. - Comes with a crevice tool and upholstery tool, and the accessory websites sells one for every task you could need it for. Some reviews say there aren’t any, but it looks like that has been fixed. Shark now carries everything at least as of right now. - Odor reducer. This is a nice addition, though replacements are a bit pricey. If you have pets it can help reduce that pet smell vacuums tend to get. You can also use the vacuum just fine without one. - Long cord. Why this isn’t standard with vacuums I’ll never know, but this cord is long enough to be able to do most average sized rooms without having to swap outlets The bad: - Loud. Coming from an older shark, this is noticeably louder. Which is a shame, I guess a trade off for the power, but Dyson manages to have power without this noise. - Weight. This thing is a beast. I am in decent shape and it still can get tiring. The lift-away feature is hampered by the fact that it’s so heavy too. All in all you won’t be disappointed with this vacuum. No vacuum is perfect, some might fix another flaws, but it’ll have new ones of it’s own. The pros for this outweigh the cons in my opinion. The price is on the upper end, but worth it.

> 3 dayThis is the second Shark I have tried this week. I wish I could say I was impressed, but I really think Shark stopped making great vacuums. I had a Shark for five years and sadly they do not last; what does these days. I was looking for the exact same one and let me tell you, they sure have gone up in pricing. Since there $350 ones do not work for anything, I decided to try this because of the reviews. The vacuum its self is quite large and heavy. I am waiting for a doctor to see if I have MS and I can definitely tell you I felt that side of my body growing tired from using this. It has a larger container and a sleek design. I have four cats so I have to vacuum everyday or every other. I have regular carpet and two area rugs. I am not at all impressed with the vacuuming of the area rugs, you can still see fur on it and I went over it multiple times. Now, it did pick up fur and what ever that stuff is that comes out of carpets, but it doesn’t seem like it did the job thoroughly; or maybe it just didn’t seem like it because of the larger container. It is definitely a heavy machine when it comes to vacuums so if you have a difficult time pushing this, it isn’t for you. Yes, on some area rugs it zooms, but it doesn’t seem to work all that well on the carpet switch so I had to go to area rug in order for it do to it’s job on the regular carpet. If you have the right angle turning is easy, but if you don’t it sucks. The pet power brush sounds like you are driving a race car, very loud and vrooms, LOL. It does have good suction but if you have a cat tower that is hard to vacuum this does not work. It is not good with the fur that is in twined in the carpet. The cord is not much longer than the original one I had. I do have a smaller sized house and I still have to unplug it to move into another room. After vacuuming my floors for two days there is no hair in the brushless rollers. Another plus, is that if you are picking stuff up on hardwood floor, like cat food, it does not spit it out at you from behind like their other brands do. It is not good with picking up plastic juice straw casing either, it stays at the bottom of the rollers so make sure to check that if you have to vacuum up stuff. I am just not impressed with the pricing on this vacuum, but I am going to keep this one.

> 3 dayHonest review, it’s been 3 months since I purchased this vacuum. Best decision ever, it picks up everything on my carpet upstairs and it’s super easy to clean. I’d recommend this product.

> 3 dayYeah its a little on the heavy side but boy does it suck! Sucks in a good way. Now well get to the hose. It is an accordion style and stretches out too about 5ft. That is until you turn it on. Once on the, the powerful suction, did I mention how it sucks, pulls the hose tight. It almost straightens it out its soo strong. You cannot use the hose with the cannister attached to the main body. Unless your using the hose 12 inches away you have to detach the cannister. Even with the vacuum on low it still pulls the hose tight. You have to move the cannister with your vacuuming motions. Used for a few weeks now and havent had to clean roller at all, works as designed. Had to clean my old Shark after ever second vacuuming. I have 2 Golden Retrievers, nuff said there. Gave it 4 stars for the hose and weight. If you can put up with that, which I can, then this vac is a good buy.
