I own 2 Newfoundland dogs. You can imagine how much fur gets on to the floors. It is like tumble weeds everywhere. I have owned Dysons and multiple other pet vacuums over the years, but they all came down to one thing the fur gets tangled onto the roller and I need to get scissors out and cut them out of the bristles. I need to do this so much just to vacuum the whole house it isnt even funny. This vacuum comes with two rollers one with fins with no bristles the other is like a soft roller. It vacuumed so well I was so impressed. Yet there was some fur still wound up in the soft roller and that was such a pain to remove in a different way. Mind you it is not anywhere near the amount that gets tangled on to a normal bristled brush. I removed the soft roller and now I really do not need to worry about fur getting tangled up what so ever at all. The only reason I am giving it a 4 star is because I wish Shark would give us an option to swap out the soft roller for another fin roller. I assume because I am lacking the second soft roller it is not cleaning as well, but even without it I would say it is still pretty good. I cant say enough about this new found freedom from constantly needing to cut out fur from the brushes. I love my dogs dearly but the extra chore of constantly flipping over the vacuum and cutting out fur from the rollers were making vacuum time so much longer and irritating. Even when they touted for pets I always thought why cant they do anything about the fur tangle. I believe they are getting closer to a true pet vacuum including long haired pets now. One more step Shark. For everyone with long haired pets. This vacuum is really worth every penny.

Great suction power. Does great on carpets and hard surface floors. It is a little heavy. Motor over heats and will shut the unit off temporarily which I don’t like. The dust container detaches easy but is a little wonky when re-attaching. The odor blocking technology is just and replaceable air freshener like you would put in your car. The new roller fins are better than the old brush rollers and haven’t tangled so far. Just curious tho if the rubber fins will hold up or tear after a while.

This cleans the floors better than my old vacuum. It has a roller brush that works great on the hard floors , but it also transitions to my rugs with ease. The canister can be removed from the base so you can easily get under couches and beds... also has a long wand that can reach high places. Longer power cord then my old one as well makes it super easy to get around the house better. It comes with only a few attachments, so do your homework and order the ones that you may need. Overall great buy and I am so happy we decided to buy this with all the options out there .

This is my first Shark, and Ive never owned a Dyson, but I do have 6 house cats and 2 horses and a plethora of chickens and turkeys, so the dirt tracked into my house is on a daily basis is in the overwhelming amount! FWIW, only the cats have access to the house, not the other critters, and only 2 go out on a semi-regular basis, so this is all about accumulated hair rather than dust/dirt underfoot as I change shoes at the door. I will say that it got the entrance mats by the doors almost as clean as power washing them, which was amazing as they are ribbed pile, not flat! the other vacuum wouldnt touch that. I bought this to combat the cat litter tracked and the hair, and sanitize the air, as I have allergy issues. I have mostly hard floors, a few area rugs, and an un-carpeted staircase that has been a huge problem with hair blobs. I have 100% woven wool area rugs in the living room, they are deep pile and have been a problem to get clean from the beginning, not to mention that they also shed! Here is how I rate the Shark: Suction is 100%, bare floor cleaning 100%, area rugs on pile setting and they are 80% clean. Some of that is probably because the rugs are old and need repeated vacuuming to get *all* the dirt out of them. I used the lift away feature to vacuum the corners of the rooms and it was long enough to reach, but just barely. Under furniture? NO problem! Basically I dont have to dust mop any longer as the floor finish roller does a great job of getting the dust up, too. The hand tools are powerful, I have slip covers on several pieces of furniture, and the power brush is too strong it can suck up the material making it hard to vacuum. So I use the un-powered brush attachment and that works great. The only thing that Im missing is a little mesh bag for organizing the extra attachments. For $350-$400, Shark should come up with a free bag for their customers. And, do yourself a favor and order the spare filters, they come in handy. I have to change mine each time I use it to get the best air quality. I simply rinse and dry the filters that come out and reuse them.

The power on this thing is impressive. The design makes sense. You can detach fron the base and carry it. The vertex is a master vacuum on hardwood floors, it picks up everything and doesnt throw it back at you. On carpet this thing glides its inpressive.

This Shark Vertex replaced my ancient Hoover upright. It was easy to assemble and did a remarkable job on carpets and dust. Easy to clean. The hose on the Powered Lift Away canister is a little short for most home use. Recently, the base unit with the rollers started to malfunction. The green suction indicator light, the main roller, the soft roller and the LED lights functioned only intermittently. Rolling the vacuum forward would cause all lights and the main roller to function but the soft roller never rotated. My original purchase of this vacuum was in 2-2021, less than a year ago. It supposedly carries a 5 year warranty. I called a nice Filipino lady at the number in the manual and described the issues. She recommended I try and clean the suction hose and wand of any obstructions which I had done previously. After a few maneuvers with her on the phone line she informed me I would need a new base suction unit and Shark would only charge me one half the price for this part since this part is not covered by their warranty. I read the 5 year warranty to her from the Shark manual. Nowhere does it say anything about the base unit not being covered. After she spoke with a supervisor she let me have a new base unit for the cost of shipping only. After paying a very premium price for this vacuum I am a little concerned that it is breaking down within less than a year. Although friendly, their rep tried to charge me for a part that should clearly be covered by their own warranty. Will see what happens with the new part and how long it lasts. I probably would not buy a Shark product again. Beware of their customer service and have your manual available when you speak with them. FOLLOW UP--The new head arrived as promised. I attached to vacuum and exactly the same problems occurred. The roller brushes worked only intermittently and the green light turned on/off. Again called Shark. This time the rep told me to attach the suction nozzle directly into the new head. Viola! Worked perfectly suggesting the problem all along was in the aluminum wand tubing and not the head. She sent a new one by overnight freight without cost to me and everything works perfectly. For now. Well see.

Shark AZ2002 Vertex Powered Lift-Away: I have only had this vacuum for a few weeks and can only give my opinion based on 3 or 4 uses. I have two other vacuums that I am using for my comparison, a Hoover (constant overheating after years of use) and a Dyson (old & heavy). First off, I am a 66 years young man, and do the whole house vacuuming as my wife is not able. The unit was shipped USPS and in the stock box. It arrived in a timely manner but was severely damaged for carless handling by our USPS during shipping. While the box was a mess and I feared for the contents, I only found a couple dents in the main tube of the unit (see pics). However, the vacuum seems to be working fine. The Shark AZ2002 SUCKS… and I mean it has more suction for cleaning than any vacuum I have ever used. The controls are at the handle including the power switch. This is much better when you get used to it, like when using it as a wand having the power switch right there is great. At first, I did not think it did a good job on the carpet, but after changing and finding the best setting it does a fine job of getting the carpet groomed and doghair free. We have a Border Collie mix and a somewhat shorter haired mixed breed. As advertised, I have had NO dog hair at all wrapped around either roller (perfect). Couple things could be better… the “Large Dust Cup” is too small, especially if you have dogs. But the performance outweighs this inconvenience. The vacuum air powered “Pet Power Brush” is a joke. Stops spinning as soon as it encounters any surface (totally useless). I guess I will have to buy the electrically powered brush…maybe. This cost you a star. The position of the front roller lets you get really close to things and is appreciated. On our tiled areas this unit gets all the grit and doghair up and gone… even from the sides. The exhaust from the motor is in the front. I thought this was odd but after using it on the tiled areas, I realized that because the whole unit tips back when in use, the exhaust is out of the way, and I no longer have to chase doghair around the tiled areas like the other vacuums. On carpet, you have to get used to it wanting to run away forward and drag resistance pulling it back. But you get used to it and can really see the carpet is clean and groomed well on the drag-back stroke of your cleaning. The AZ2002 is not cheap, but I have to say, overall, it is by far the best vacuum I’ve ever been forced to use…LOL (pun at my wife). Highly recommended.

Pros: The suction power is incredible! Hair does not wrap around the roller!!! I have 4 dogs in my house and vacuum every day, so this is a big plus! There is no bad smell as a result of odor neutralizer, also a big plus. The lift-away is always handy. It has three height levels for the rollers. Easy to empty. Cons: There is no brush on the end of the crevice tool. I am using the crevice tool with brush from my old Shark vacuum. There is no headlight on the end of the wand making it difficult to see what I am vacuuming under and behind furniture. It is a bit stiff in maneuverability but I am making myself believe that it is due to the incredible suction power.

I am so amazed every time I run this if you don’t own one of these, you really should the stuff that’s in your carpet that you can’t see this vacuum definitely pulls it out. I am very very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to anybody who is looking for replacing their old vacuum, I used to be 100% Bissell I think I am now 200% shark. Thank you for a wonderful product I just wish you could get the air freshener on this particular vacuum
