Greater than one weekThis is a very nice vacuum which you can separate and carry just the canister around, this is a wonderful design. The upholstery tool doesnt stay on and turn as you use it, luckily I had extras from previous vacuums for use one working better. I had no issues with the crevice tool, and have extras as well. I enjoy using this thing, cleaning is a breeze!

> 3 dayLet’s just say I haven’t used another vacuum since purchasing this one. My German shepherd sheds a lot during the change of seasons and this vacuum gets it all up every time without missing. Buy this if you have fur babies! You will not regret it!

> 3 dayThis is a great, powerful vacuum. It cleans up most detritus at one pass and is great for wall-to-wall carpet areas or spaces covered by heavy area rugs. It is, however, pretty heavy, and the powerful suction means that it takes a little muscle to move it across the carpet. It would not be ideal for a space with lighter weight rugs because the tilt feature is pretty low to the ground, so if you want to hold the end with your foot and sweep one way to the end of a rug, then tilt, roll back, and bring the vacuum back up the rug again (no contact so the rug wont be pulled up), this involves bending way down. If you want a powerful vacuum with a large capacity canister, this is the vacuum for you. If you want a vacuum thats lightweight and moves easily across your pile carpet, look at some of the other highly rated Shark models. Think, too, about whether you want a disposable bag or a canister. Theoretically, canisters can fill to capacity. In reality, after youve done a room or two, the suction diminishes, and you need to dump out what youve collected. Bags have the disadvantage of seeming to run out just when companys coming, but they do hold a lot more and allow you to vacuum for weeks without changing if you dont have pets(!)

> 3 daySo my previous vacuum was a tiny dirt devil cordless handheld vacuum. It was bad, very bad. It barely could suck things up that were big or small and it was horrible for spot carpet cleaning. I have seborrheic dermatitis - if you dont know what that is, think dandruff, but its on other parts of your face, and the dandruff thats on your head is 10000x worse. My computer chair is on top of a short pile carpet that is 10+ years old. Normally simple vacuums should be able to grab whatevers in the carpet and suck it up, but if youve ever dealt with flakes from seborrheic dermatitis, they look practically INVISIBLE on certain colored carpets, and even on short pile carpets they sink into the bottom layer of the carpet. This is bad because it makes it very difficult to vacuum it up, and over time those flakes disintergrate into tiny dust particles, and guess what that is food for? You betcha, DUST MITES. I would ritualistically vacuum the area around my computer table but I knew I wasnt quite getting to what was the actual problem. At first I was going to get a cheapo $60 Eureka one that I saw online, but then I thought about it - why not just get something thats a little bit more expensive but not Dyson levels of expensive and is just as powerful? Thats where this came in. Assembly was straightforward, instructions were clear. Plastic felt a bit on the brittle side for everything, but that seems to be the general case for most modern products. Hooked everything together, turned on the vacuum and DANG it was strong. I had a hard time pulling the vacuum off the carpet. Fortunately, unlike some of these other reviewers *I read the instructions*. This happens on short pile rugs and carpets - this can be easily remedied by reducing the suction through the suction ring thats near the handle. Counter clockwise for less suction, clockwise for more. You will hear an air leaking sound - THIS IS NORMAL. This is a pretty cheap and easy way for the vacuum to reduce suction - and you dont have to adjust it too far - I would say a 1/6th turn was enough to reduce the suction so I could move it around comfortably without feeling like Im fighting with the vacuum. After I cleaned the area in question - the dust cup was already HALF FULL with dust. And it wasnt the typical dust youd see from the top layer of the carpet - this thing picked up what looked like extremely fine powdered sandy/colored stuff. It was obvious that it was the flakes that have dropped from my head that got pulled into the bottom layer of the carpet. Now Im sure a standard old school canister vacuum could do the same thing and my lack of experience with vacuums is just overplaying my experience, but as you can see from the other reviews here, people who have used other vacuums before can attest to the fact that this thing is *REALLY STRONG*. Bang for buck high power for its price. Also Amazon has a payment plan thing you can use which makes the bite required to buy this hurt less as well. Another thing the manual will warn you about - the vacuum is not stable upright - lean it against the wall or around items that can support just in case it tips over or find some straps to keep it secured against.

> 3 dayI bought this vacuum when my last vacuum died and Ive been using it now for a few months. It has its pros and cons. Pros: *The suction power is amazing. I feel like Im on one of those informercials where they create a clean path through the dirt to show you how well it works. I am very happy about its cleaning power. *I thought the attachments wouldnt work very well due to their design and what I read on other reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised how well they actually work on sofas and fabric covered things. They even stay on the attachment holder, unless I hit it the wrong way. Thats about all I have for the pros. Cons: *This vacuum is SMALL. Its only 11 inches wide! Youre making many, many paths across your floors. I almost think it would be better suited for a motor home or RV. *The dust bin is also small. I have a yellow lab and while I admit I dont vacuum as often as I should, when I do, Im emptying the bin 3-4 times. The bin is also hard to empty. I like that both the top and the bottom of the bin open to try and make it easier, but the way its designed, dog hair gets piled up behind the inner plastic tube and Im pushing and pulling clumps of hair from both ends to try to get it out. *The cord is long, which is great, but it comes out of the bottom of the unit, practically on the floor. Every time you have to pick it up, move it, or go to wind it up, youre bending down to the floor. I tried to feed it through the top handle to make it easier to grab, but that makes it awkward to remove the hose for the attachments. I have a bad back, and bending over time and again does not make it happy. *The vacuum stops working when you sit it upright, which is pretty typical, but it snaps into the upright position way too easily. I cant vacuum one step without out it locking into its upright position, which turns off the roller and suction. I have to push the front of the vacuum down over and over, which requires me to either use my knee and balance on one leg while on stairs, or bend over again and again. As I mentioned before, this is not pleasant with a sore back. *I cant use this vacuum on my throw rugs or area rugs. I have a 6 foot runner in my master bathroom and an oriental carpet in my family room that need to be vacuumed. I used to be able to step on one end and vacuum away from me without any problem, but it doesnt matter if I turn on the brush wheel or not, the vacuum just gets stuck on the rugs and I cant move it. I gave up and just took them outside to shake. Bottom line, the vacuum has great suction power. Probably the best suction of any vacuum Ive ever owned, but all the other things make me a bit disappointed in the purchase. I just spent 20 minutes vacuuming and my back is killing me. I hope this is helpful for someone out there.

> 3 dayVacuum has great suction, no doubt. Im a 57 year old woman but in great shape and pretty strong. I have hardwood floors with low pile rugs that I cannot push or pull this vacuum over. This would not work for an older person, even on position one of the switch which I assume is for hard floors. I dont like the fact that you cannot change the position to different rug or carpet styles. I also dont like the cord coming off the back side of the machine and only six inches from the ground. I am constantly running it over, have to stop, pick up the machine to get the cord out from underneath. Frustrating. The onboard tools do not stay or snap into the handle and will fall out during use. The handle is also awkward when trying to clean things overhead with the 180° radius. In short, the canister clean out is nice and the suction is strong but not thrilled with the rest of it. The picture I attached with the rug is the type I can barely push or pull the vacuum no matter the setting. I ended up giving this vacuum to my boyfriend because he said he needed a new one and had a prior model. I stated earlier that I could not push or pull the vacuum on low-pile rugs, especially on humid days. He showed me there is a way to adjust the suction up near the handle. That made all the difference in the world.
