My most favorite pack I had for many years was stolen 2 years ago and they do not make them like that anymore, bought and returned so many, the maroon Quest fit the bill the best but was not my happy pack so I continued to browse purchase and return. This Sharmouth is most definately a keeper and will replace my Quest for my long day hikes, they look similar in size in pic but trust me the Sharkmouth is smaller and more compact with more storage, insulated water compartment and water tube. I am finally...happy..not too big, bulky or long, plenty of easy to get to storage, clips and extras. I am 5 foot tall, 125lbs and not big chested but if you are trust me there is plenty of space for your girls, and if you are larger in size in other areas these straps are long to accomodate bigger builds, my search is finally over. Cant wait to put this baby to the real test of usage but I have a feeling it will workout between us :)

The bag works well, size is just a bit small than I was thinking but does work well. The biggest issue I have is trying to get rid of the plastic/rubber taste and smell of from the water from it. Hoping it goes away with more time.

I have put this bag through it! After a year of amazing hikes, everything is holding up. I’m a small female and this pack fits like a glove. It can definitely be adjusted for larger frames, but finding something comfortable for small shoulders and a small waist can be challenging. This bag keeps my water cold, and holds my regular gear. Just to give you an idea of what this thing can hold, I typically pack a light jacket, gloves, a winter hat, a ball cap, emergency blankets, lunch, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, and more. I have been rained on, and everything seems to stay dry. Major bang for your buck. Would buy again.

update: I have now used this pack four times and the stitching has not come apart, but it it obviously going to soon. It is disappointing because I always take care of my gear and never over fill the pockets. I broke down and bought an Osprey daylite plus. WOW, what a better quality backpack. This is a good pack, I am satisfied with it. This was my third pick before putting out big $$$ for a name brand which I did not want to do. I felt that none of the descriptions really met my needs to spend that kind of money. I had already returned a Teton (could not adjust the straps for my frame, they were too stiff and the chest strap would not tighten enuf). I also returned a Rumpumpak (it would not hold enough and I just didnt like it). But this one: PROS: 1. perfect size for keys, iPhone or gps, extras, lunch, sun screen, bug spray, toilet paper and stuff a small jacket in there too. 2. Bladder compartment has a reflective liner to try to keep the water cool as long as possible. 3. The straps adjust just fine, I am a female, 51, #140. The back does not sway on my back at all and does not seem to tug anywhere. 4. My back sweated some, but it was a 8 mile strenous hike, 95 degrees mostly in the sun. Overall it did well, my shirt was not drenched and i did not feel uncomfortable. Cons: 1. The bladder! Who would use a black or even green bladder is stupid. I would like to see inside to make sure it is clean and no floats. I put this one in the Goodwill and bought a Platypus (a product that I know I can trust). Plus I connected the hose to the bladder and it is WAY TOO DIFFICULT to disconnect. Life it too short. 2. There arent any attachment sites on the outside of the main pack. I fixed this by attaching those gear ties to the two straps on the side. They will work fine if I want to attach my jacket or a towel outside. My trekking poles can go into the mesh pocket and attach at the top with a gear tie. Im all set.

Ive used quite a few back packs over the years. I need lightweight and decent storage because I cover a lot of ground quickly. This Pack meets every need requirement and then some. Surprisingly, water stays cold for a long time. Storage space is more than I could have expected. I store perishable items in my water bag compartment which keeps it cold and dry. There are also plenty of clips and straps to attach items directly to my pack. I will definitely recommend this pack to my close friends.

Love this bag! I was looking for a hydration pack that would hold a few hours worth of supplies, snack, first aid kit, poo bags for my dog, water bowl for my dog, my packable jacket, flashlight, whistle...... all the necesssary things to have for a hike that last a couple of hours. This pack has plenty of space for all of that and more. Its light weight too. I did have some issue with the straps chafing under my arms when wearing just a tshirt, but after readjusting the straps (and there are plenty of adjustment points) I was able to make them more comfortable. I do not use the waist strap. I dont find it necessary. I put an ice pack in with the hydration bag and the water stayed cool for several hours. It took me a minute to figure out the bite valve actually has to be pulled upwards to work, but thats actually a nice feature. The cover for the bite valve doesnt stay on, so I had to be careful when taking the bag off an placing it on the ground. I didnt want the valve to touch the ground. Other than that, I really like this bag and Im glad I bought this and didnt spend over $100 on the name brand bag that I had been looking at.

Happy enough, but 50 cents of more padding could have made a night and day difference. Not only is the padding really thin but its also the cheapest type of padding that crunches a lot and doesnt really work so well. However the material quality is decent. so Ill keep it I guess.

Bought this bag to replace a too-big Gregory hiking backpack. I really love the insulated hydration bladder pocket and the included bladder. Easy to use the insulated pocket for something else if I’m using the bag without a bladder. The color is beautiful (I got the rose pink) and the other details - like zippers, buckles, straps, and pockets - on the bag are of good quality. When I’m not using this bag for day hikes or travel, it lives in my car as my emergency pack. I keep emergency essentials in a separate, small case (eg, whistle, hand-crank radio/flashlight, basic first aid kit, multi-tool, headlamp and batteries) and keep a change of clothes, some snacks, and bottled water in the backpack. Easy to swap out items as needed for hiking or whatever. I’ve also used this when out and about with my kid where I need to carry a bunch of stuff. It’s comfortable to wear for long periods of time when fully loaded. This is not an overly large backpack, but it is the perfect size for my uses, real and potential. Overall, well-made, versatile, and handy. And the price is great!
