I have two devices that are Fast ethernet, a DVR and TV. I put those in their own group so that they dont impact the gigabit devices. This switch has two uplinks ports to help with connecting other switches, APs or mesh backhauls. Build and materials quality is good, with a all metal case. The transformer is built into the switch so no wall wart is needed, just a 3 conductor cord. I give this product a thumbs up.

Ive been tasked with wiring my entire home with ethernet. I needed something that would give me enough ports to wire every room without creating a bottleneck. I decided to get this switch to help me do this. With 16 ports, this has enough ports for every room. The switch allows every device to communicate with a gigabit connection. Everything is plug and play with no configuration needed. I enjoyed the fact that this device is silent. It makes it perfect for my home office without any concern of being a nuisance. Having thoroughly testing this router, I am confident that it will serve me well as the primary switch of my home network.

Lots of ports, would be more useful if the auto speed negotiation worked a bit better. Bringing the link up is a little slow, takes about 4 seconds when plugging in a new cable. I couldnt get everything to connect at gigabit speeds, though. It connected gigabit to another switch, and to a raspberry pi, but I could not get 3 other USB gigabit adapters to connect higher than 100mb. That makes it less useful to me than it would be otherwise. They are confirmed working at gigabit speed with a other switches. If you look at the photo, you can see the white cable is showing 100mb, the blue is showing gig, and the yellow is showing gig. The white cable is going to a USB gig adapter (most laptops dont have network jacks anymore), the blue goes to a Raspberry Pi model 4, and the yellow is going to another switch on the uplink port. For the price, you should probably take a pass.

This is my second SODALA switch. My first one (a 4 port model) has been running the several of the security cameras around my house since January and has worked quite well. This is basically identical to it, except with 8 port rather than 4, which I really like as that will let me get rid of three additional PoE injectors and consolidate them to one switch. So far, I did a bit of quick testing on this with a few phones (Grandstream, Fanvil, Vtech/SNOM) and a couple of security cameras (Reolink and Foscam). All worked fine (which is good, as the Vtech/SNOM is known for being quite picky and wont work with some of my PoE sources). That being said, the one device that did not work QUITE properly with this switch is a Netgear WAX615 access point from work, which I just plugged in out of curiosity. While the WAX615 fired up and works, it only detected this as a lower power 802.3af switch rather than 802.3at, so it operates in a reduced bandwidth mode. However, I am not going to knock any points off this review based on that, as, so far, the only PoE switch I have found that the WAX615 seems to work at full speed with is specifically one built by Netgear (go figure). As that is the only 802.3at device I have at the moment, I cant say for sure if that is an issue with the access point or with the 802.3at implementation in this switch (and several others). The VLAN and extend modes I have not tested, as they are not particularly useful for my own setup. The only criticism I have of this switch is that LEDs are all at the bottom and not very visible nor very informative (all they show is activity, not PoE status nor link speed). While I would really prefer them to be a bit better on this, for the price, Im still not complaining. Overall though, I like this switch, it seems to work well for the devices I actually need it to work with, I like that it has dual uplink ports, I like that it has 8 PoE ports and a large power budget, and I like the price!

Great POE switch for cameras and other similar PoE devices. The two upstream ports definitely make it easy to add it into your network. I also like that it has a dedicated switch on the front for port isolation (only allows the PoE ports to communicate with upstream, not with each other). Overall, it does the job. No complaints.

Nice for just a few devices...probably makes the most sense for those with POE devices (say, 2-3 security cams), or wants a VLAN setup. SOLIDLY made.

This switch works well. It is easy to use and easily adds 15 Gigabit ports to my router. It appears to be of high quality material and craftsmanship so I expect it will last at least a decade for me. Under $57.00 for a good gigabit switch is a very reasonable price in my opinion. I am happy with this switch! I give it 5 stars!

This unmanaged 16-port switch is great, especially when considering its very reasonable cost. Simply plug the heavy-duty cable into an a/c outlet and to the switch, and you are ready to start plugging your network devices into it. For me, switching from my original unit (which was maxed out at seven connections) to this one was a task taking no more than five minutes. A very nicely illuminated and attractive face panel shows you which ports are active as well as data transfer (the individual LED lights blink as data is being transferred) that is taking place. The unit itself is moderately sized, about a foot in width or so, and is about four inches deep. It is generally light, as well, so it is easy to position the unit most anywhere you want (you can also rack mount this until as well if you have the rack mount connectors. Transfer speed is as advertised (10/100/1000Mbps). My network devices were flying through the network as soon as I plugged everything in, and I still have nine additional ports available to me for future use. a nice bonus, particularly appreciated by me, is that the unit is a fanless design, so it makes no noise!! Build quality is very good, and I would not hesitate to recommend it for anyone needing an unmanaged switch for a small network. When I add in the fanless design, I rate it as a five stars item. Exactly what a network switch is supposed to do - plug it in, plug in the components, and it just works. Perfectly! I was having issues expanding my in-home network while wiring another router at the other end of the house to have both hard-wired network as well as expanded wifi coverage with a second router. Some components did fine, but my addressable security camera didnt want to pass through the router. So I added this switch between the 2 routers, moving the components and router to be plugged into this switch at the other side of the house. Now everything works great! The cameras work now since they are on the same subnet, as the switch is just passing through and adding ports. TV, PC and other router work great as well. RECOMMENDED
