Greater than one weekI use POE powered access points for my WiFi setup. I like the hotel style ceiling mount, or outdoor pole mount units. I also prefer POE cameras. This is an affordable 8 port router. It can be split into 2 VLAN 4 port switches as well, handy to separate the APs from the cameras. This is a good price for the functionality.

> 3 dayThis Sodola gigabit ethernet switch was a breeze to set up. Took me all of 2 to 3 minutes and my wired system was up and running. No hitches whatsoever. This 16 port model may have been overkill for my particular needs but in our house we are moving totally away from wifi since we find our streaming speeds are far superior when hard wired. So we are adding to our LAN network all the time and the spare ports will be welcome down the line. We have been streaming through the Sodola switch on multiple computers without any hiccups or buffering since the installation. Thumbs up on this switch.

> 3 dayThe SODOLA 8 Port Gigabit POE Switch with 2 Gigabit Uplink,802.3af/at Compliant, 120W Built-in Power, AI Watchdog, Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Network Switch, Plug and Play in a Sturdy Metal Housing was perfect for my application. I have three POE access points and three POE cameras that were all using individual POE power supplies. This switch took the place of those individual power supplies and one of the switches in the network. This is an unmanaged switch but it worked fine when integrated into my network. The switch has two uplink ports which allow all eight POE ports to be active. The unit has three modes though I used the default mode which meant all ports could communicate. It has a VLAN mode that does not allow the designated port to communicate. The last mode is. EXTEND and it allows ports 7 and 8 to extend up to 250 meters. This switch was exactly what I needed to eliminate cables and power supplies. If you need simple POE for devices as I did then this switch is a good one. It can also be rack mounted but did not come with the mounting hardware.

> 3 dayI had never heard of this brand, so I was wary picking this up. However, so far Ive had no issues with it. One major issue Ive had with previous switches from multiple name brands, which motivated me to try this one, is having to restart my switch now and then for depending on usage or after a certain amount of time. With this one so far i have not had that issue at all. It has been completely stable. It has configuration options for vlan and extended mode easily accessible at the front. In terms of build quality it is OK. It is fully metal, which is a plus, but fairly lightweight, which doesnt really give of a sense of durability to me. Despite that though, I feel it will be fine in most normal scenarios. It comes with mounting brackets for a rack, which fit as expected and worked perfectly for me. Overall this has been reliable and shows no signs of issues with my network so far. So seems a good choice, especially given its current price vs other options.

> 3 dayInstalled in place of a regular non power over ethernet and found no degradation of speed not throughput. Small foot print is good. The internal power adapter is cool, no wall wart to deal with. There are two Gigabit upload ports witch is useful for multiple VLANs. No physical console port only virtual. Mine came with no mounting wings. The included directions are very basic and cover all the switches available.

> 3 dayHad just added some wireless network extenders to the house. Bought one of these and wired it between LAN and the wireless extender, desk top computer and wireless printer out. Running a speed check on computer the Ping dropped considerably and network speed of computer more than doubled to close to 1GBS up and down. Great value.

Greater than one weekI know that most people view technology like switches as old, well established, technology that is hard to mess up. But trust me, I have tried some really bad PoE switches recently. The one this switch is replacing was advertised as a 10/100/1000 but I could never get anything to connect to it faster than 100mbps. This one, connected at full duplex 1gbps without any issues. My whole network feels completely fresh and my headless server that I remote into is finally able to be used with the full gui versus just ssh. Recommended for an advanced home network or a small business.

05-06-2025Review updated a second time. I needed help and the manufacturer offered immediate assistance. To make a long story short, the power cord was loose in the adapter and this caused the power to cycle on and off. My internet technician was concerned this could have been a hazard. However, after reaching out to the manufacturer, they showed reasonable evidence to support the safety and certification for their product. They have several years of experience in selling this exact type of product and have not had any burn-outs of experiences that would reflect negatively on the product. The product works great and offers excellent value. The only thing I will add is to make certain the power cord fits snuggly into the jack. It there is too much play in the cord (wiggles) then simply contact the manufacturer straight away. They are very responsive. Updated review: We previously gave this product a 5 star review. However, we had an AT&T technician who showed us how the power was going in and out on this ethernet switch. He scared us into discarding the product because he said it could be a fire hazard. However, I must be clear that this technician is NOT an electrician. But, to be safe, we did discard the product. I am going to report this to SODOLA and see what they say. It was a 5 star product so I am not sure how to rate it now. For the moment, 3 stars. Oldest review: For some reason, the previous owner of our home only had a 5-port switch installed when there were more ethernet outlets throughout the house. I ordered this so we can use the ethernet in several locations and it works as advertised/expected. This was very easy to set up -- I plug the ethernet cables into the switch, and then into the power outlet. I didnt need to install any software at all. It also came with a wall mount, but I didnt need it. Overall, Im happy to recommend this 16-port gigabit switch.

03-06-2025This unit replaces a previous 8-port gigabit PoE switch in our attic for a series of security cameras. It worked immediately upon connection(s) and the VLAN configuration eliminates any crosstalk between cameras. One of my cameras that had intermittent streaming glitches now performs flawlessly. I could not be happier with how well this unit performs right out of the box with no issues whatsoever. The photo was taken immediately after initial testing. I have yet to properly secure it and the cables. The automatic crash recovery for unresponsive PoE cameras is also a great feature. I have two other PoE switches that are now likely to be upgraded to this model, and I will be recommending this unit without hesitation to those who consult me about security camera systems.
