> 3 dayThis is an interesting POE switch at this price point. The Speeds to seem to be inline with a gigabit switch and it powered up POE devices with no issue. The VLAN switch is interesting but I dont know how much use it will be. I did not see anything on this in the documentation so I am assuming that if you flip the switch then it assigns VLAN number 1 through 4 to the respective ports, in theory you could have 4 camera plugged into this switch, have a another switch capable of VLAN tagging and be able to isolate the cameras so that the traffic can only be between the cameras and the NVR, of course the switch would need to be managed. You could configure other scenarios with more advanced VLAN configuration. This unit is a fanless design with is nice, is wall mountable and has a fairly small footprint, all I like the fact there is no wall wort, the power supply is built into the unit which is better for POE. The Power indicator is a Red LED, more established companies tend to reserve RED for a fault condition. I thought about taking a star off but did not because the LED is not that bright unlike another switch I have that practically lights up the room making me thing something is very wrong when I walk in. Overall this switch is a good value and and good start to a small network if you have a POE need.

> 3 dayThis Sodola gigabit ethernet switch was a breeze to set up. Took me all of 2 to 3 minutes and my wired system was up and running. No hitches whatsoever. This 16 port model may have been overkill for my particular needs but in our house we are moving totally away from wifi since we find our streaming speeds are far superior when hard wired. So we are adding to our LAN network all the time and the spare ports will be welcome down the line. We have been streaming through the Sodola switch on multiple computers without any hiccups or buffering since the installation. Thumbs up on this switch.

> 3 dayI upgraded from a 16-port switch to a 24-port unmanaged switch. The model I bought does NOT have WiFi or a user interface, so I could not rate those, and I have not needed tech support. Basically, I plugged my devices into the switch and the switch into my router and everything has been working well.

> 3 dayI got this to power my TP-Link POE access points. It works as it should. I havent had it long so I cannot comment on reliability or longevity though. Its very nicely made, all metal construction, no fan, onboard power (regular IEC power cord, not a wall wart). It has slotted holes to wall mount it, but doesnt come with rubber feet (easily added though). There are tapped holes on either side for rack brackets which are not included. Two side by side would be 1 RU. The comparable TP-Link POE switches are either 100bT or the GbE are much more expensive. This is a nice, inexpensive alternative. It has a switch for a VLAN feature where the POE ports are isolated from each other but communicate with the two uplink ports. I dont need this feature, but it could be useful in some situations. The same switch will alternatively provide extended cable length where 10bT is sufficient, cameras for example. (these two features are mutually exclusive). There are two GbE uplinks which could be used either for daisy chaining or for a local expansion switch. In my case Im using these switches to power access points where the switch is in a closet or cabinet and the AP is on the wall or ceiling. The additional ports on the switch will run a few other devices within the closet or cabinet.

> 3 dayThis 8 port switch works great for a small business or a busy home. It is simple and easy to use. Just plug the switch in, plug in the ethernet cable, then plug in your devices. The switch is quiet and unobtrusive. It doesnt take up a lot of space and will fit easily on the corner of a desk or shelf. The housing is metal and it is usually cool to the touch. It feels nice and sturdy. There are LED lights that supposedly show you if a device is connected and working, but the lights are very dim. On the plus side, there is no extra light pollution coming out of the unit, on the down side, it is difficult to see if the lights are working at all. There are holes in the device that I am assuming are intended for wall mounting, but there is no gear provided in the box. It would be fairly easy to pick up what you need at a home supply store or to order something online. If you need a switch, this one is affordable, appears to be good quality and works great.

Greater than one weekGreat POE switch for cameras and other similar PoE devices. The two upstream ports definitely make it easy to add it into your network. I also like that it has a dedicated switch on the front for port isolation (only allows the PoE ports to communicate with upstream, not with each other). Overall, it does the job. No complaints.

> 3 dayPeople either buy a solid metal switch like this (complete with post mounting kit) because they want industrial/commercial strength network infrastructure or they are a home consumer tired of plastic garbage that doesnt hold up. So this switch is working as well as something that costs twice as much. Im in a home network and using this to provide more ethernet ports, not working in a commercial/industrial environment, and Im working with a powerline ethernet adapter not full gigabit network speed (sadly) so I cant say anything about network performance other than that this appears to have eliminated some of the lag on my home network and devices plugged in are recognized instantly with very responsive and stable network connection. Only time will tell if this unit will hold up as well as units from other manufacturers that cost twice as much but if you want a home switch thats a step up from plastic garbage this is a good choice. Its an unmanaged switch but does have options you can setup if you like. For normal switch use just plug it into an ethernet cable from your router and plug in cables for each additional device you want to add.
