Excellent so far. I do regular work estimating carpet requirements in customers homes. So I need a tape measure that lays straight and can be securely locked. This is excellent; some other Stanley models are not as good as this one. Some tape measures dont lie straight and flat along the floor, and some do not have a locking device to keep them open and in place along the floor. With others, the lock slips so that the tape slowly rewinds along the floor - very irritating for me. I bought four of these and I shall be interested to see how long each one lasts. As they say, no one solution lasts for ever.

Very good mid-range tape. Does the job it is meant to, very clear and precise. Had many of these tapes and will continue to use.

Replacement for one I left on site

For a cheapish 8m tape this is good. Theres some sort of slippy coating on the tape so it rolls in easily. Locking switch works well.

A bit larger than my previous but way sturdier.. you can definitely drop this with no worries. Also strong enough that you can roll it out to 2 meters in the air before it bends. Has inches and cm. the front bit covers c 3 cm. which is a little annoying cause it’s a little harder to see the measurements there vs my previous.

You just cant go wrong with this product. The lock mechanism hasnt failed me yet (after nearly a year of use), its been dropped from a height more times than I can remember, and yet it still works great. The tape comes back into the body every time without a problem. Its worth mentioning that its quite bulky and heavy but I like this - it just feels well made (and it is!). If you need a decent measuring tape, this is a good call. If, however, you dont quite need the 8m in length or require something you can carry in your pocket, you might want to go for something less bulky.

I now have 3 tapes in 3 strategic locations so I always have one near at hand when needed. This is the second of these I have bought. It is sturdy and truly fit for purpose and at just over £6, a fair price. Smart looking as well

This is a very nice tape measure to use. Because it is a little wider than most it is a little stiffer so easier to use on your own when measuring a long length. Very quick delivery.

Does the job handy that’s 8 m. Can’t get lock to stay on sometimes. Works well enough
