So we may have developed an addiction to this game. We have played more than a game a day worth of games dice we got it. We also plan on getting the new expansion as soon as its on pre-order. To top it off we are browsing etsy for fancier tokens and contemplating a fancier bird house for dice rolls (love that mechanism btw).

We added this extension to the game last night and loved it.

Fun European expansion. Played it tonight and was delighted with the new purple eggs. Enjoyed the new teal colored abilities that happened at the end of each round. It was great to meet a new flock of birds from Europe. Wingspan is my favorite board game right now.

We love wingspan and play it almost daily. We definitely enjoy the expansion and new powers this brings. The only thing we didnt like about this expansion was the handful of cards that are attack cards, cards that allow you to steal food from another player. This is a departure from the original and from the Oceania expansion that allow you to benefit from things other players do but never allowed you to TAKE things from other players. Perhaps this works in multiplayer games if youre stealing from multiple players (I dont know yet), but in two-player games we recommend just removing these from the deck to keep things civil.

A great addition to a great game.

There is a standalone way to play with this, but if youre not familiar with the original game youll never make it work. Consider this an expansion/add-on for the original Wingspan game, which is exactly what they say it is. It adds more complication and things to keep track of to this already complex game, and thats a good thing. You also get new purple eggs now and many added modes too. And an extra card case, that you dont need and wont fit in the original box. Oh well! The important things are the new rules and cards; they rock! If you enjoy Wingspan, just buy this right now; you wont be sorry.

My family loves Wingspan, and I thought - why would we need to add anything to an already wonderful game? However - we did, and it is literally a game changer! Not only are the new birds lovely and fun to learn about - but the added powers are great. We recently played the original game with friends, who didnt have the expansion pack, and I felt it was really lacking. Im a convert now! The added powers, etc. dont require a re-learning of the game. Like any bird powers - from either deck - it takes playing to figure out which powers work for your strategy. We recently gifted Wingspan to a family member, and bought both the original and European expansion pack - why wait?!?

Wonderful game but the shipping took forever and it didn’t arrive on time for Christmas. When reaching out to customer service they were unable to help.

This is a great expansion for those that already have a great grasp on the rules of the game. Using this expansion makes the game so different and much more interesting. There is more to think about and its opens up a few more strategies - no more spending the entire last round hoarding eggs! We are so happy we bought this. Also, its for a great price.
