Strathmore Mixed Media Vellum, 5 x 6-7/8 Inches, White, 10 Cards & Envelopes

I liked these cards very well. Im in the middle of creating a huge batch of thank you cards and these have been perfect for stamping and coloring. However, if you are considering using watercolor (water soluble) colored pencils, then I would look at the Strathmore Mixed Media Greeting Cards with Envelopes. These too are fantastic and will handle just about anything. My advice is to really think about what you are going to be doing with the cards before deciding on the specific one. If its just stamping and use of dry media, you cant go wrong with these. I dont own copic markers so I cant speak for how this paper weight holds up or to bleed through. But the Mixed Media Greeting Cards will handle watercolor, markers, and more. I absolutely love these stamping cards made by Strathmore. Will buy again!

I am usually a watercolor paper snob, using only Arches, but I like to have an inexpensive, pre-cut card option and this does the trick. I have painted several packages worth of cards and keep reordering more of this Strathmore paper. I have noticed patches of uneven sizing on about one card in every fifteen. The paper in those cases wont accept the color as well and it almost appears to pool in spotty places. When this occurs, I blot it off and decide between multiple layers or going lightly pigmented in that area. Its a minor nuisance unless you are a stickler for perfection.

I’m not sure why but I assumed these cards would be smooth. This was likely my mistake (not fully reading the description). Since they are heavily textured they are not ideal for drawing. I also was not a fan of the torn edge on one side. That being said, I made them work but I probably wouldn’t purchase them again.

Everything about the quality and convenience of these cards is great. I’ve recently started water coloring and have been practicing on these cards and mailing them out to friends. It’s been so much fun and I will definitely repurchase!

I use these cards over medium weight tear away stabilizer to embroider occasion-specific designs on personalized greeting cards. They work beautifully on digitized designs in my Solaris embroidery sewing machine. A titanium-coated needle works best as writing through paper can dull needles.

I love to use these in place of Zentangle tiles.

If you like quality ways of communicating with the hand-written word, youll really like this product. If you cant put down your cell phone, leave these for the classicists. I like a fountain pen and so does this paper. Ill buy more.

I love using this paper to print my drawings. Because it is a textured and thicker paper, colors obviously aren’t as bright but I like the look it gives to my drawings.

Strathmore cards are of high quality paper and provide the perfect media for my photography. I have used them for many years and find consistent quality.
