The dusk to dawn feature works great and without the extra ugly part of the base most bulbs with this feature have. The light from these is very bright, perfect for my front porch lights, but like somebody else said theyd be too bright for some applications. I have four total lights on my front porch and I was worried that the light from other bulbs would make some not work, but this isnt the case. All four come on around dusk and turn back off at dawn. Perfect so far and they come with a great warranty, and in the box was a card offering another two years to the warranty! So now they have 7 years warranty

Functions as promised and are very bright. Love not having to worry about turning on and off. Have not used long enough to test longevity. They are nice looking as well!

Working for me so far. Go on and off like theyre supposed to. Saves me time and forgetting to turn off and on. Look great also.

I just got them in the mail today, and one of them already went bad. Burned.

They do exactly what theyre supposed to; they come on at dusk and go off at dawn. The fact that theyre vintage-looking Edison bulbs is an added plus. I cant comment on their longevity because weve only had them a few weeks but, given that theyre LEDs, Id expect them to last a long time.

Bought smaller light fixtures making our sensors too large to use. Found these dusk to dawn bulbs making sensors unnecessary. They fit in our fixtures nicely and work perfectly. Love the amount of light they give off. Hoping they will last a very long time!

One of the bulbs so far was bad. Will check the others

The center where the light comes from was bent to the side of the glass.

Where do I use an ST64 light bulb?

These glass bulbs with their high tech LED filament inside provide a retro styling to any space. This ST64 LED Filament Bulb with Dusk to Dawn is wet rated and designed for exterior use. Add it to lanterns or wall sconces on your exterior walls or porch, to pendant fixtures in your outside dining areas, or any retro light fixtures like gooseneck barn lights. They may also be suitable for string lights with an E26 base.

What is a Dusk to Dawn Sensor?

Sunco Dusk to Dawn lights improve your outdoor security and provide bright light with the convenience of automated night lighting. Our D2D bulbs turn on when the sun sets and automatically turn off when light is detected. Just switch it on to power the LED and let the included sensor do all the work. No timer is needed. Automated lighting helps create the illusion your house is occupied, even when it is not. These clever lights activate on their own so you can run a last minute errand after work and still have exterior lights on when you return after dark.

Why does my Dusk to Dawn light flash on/off?

Sometimes reflective surfaces can fool a Dusk to Dawn sensor into thinking there is sufficient light available, so the light turns itself off. It then registers no light detected and turns itself back on. This continues in a loop of off/on/off/on so that the light can appear to be strobing or flashing.

Consider these potential solutions: 1. Point lights away from one another so their beams to do not strike the D2D sensor in nearby light fixtures, 2. Use a dual bulb fixture with bulbs pointing in different directions, 3. Move a light fixture above a garage window or away from a doorway window will reduce the chances a reflective surface might mimic a light source and fool the D2D sensor.

Do I need a timer to set the Dusk to Dawn feature?

No, there is no timer needed for Dusk to Dawn bulbs. Flip on the light switch and the included Dusk to Dawn Sensor does all the work for you. It turns on when light is absent and off again when light is detected.

What does Wet Rated mean & why is it important?

The terms Wet Rated in our product descriptions and technical specifications refer to moisture ratings. Safety should be the main focus when you choose wet rated light bulbs. Since water is a conductor you want to eliminate accidental electrocution to protect the people who install and use light fixtures, including your family, visitors, and clients. Using Wet Rated light bulbs is appropriate for wet areas where dripping water, rain, or other liquid that could flow or splash against your light fixture or LED bulb. Sunco indicates the moisture rating in our technical specifications so you know our products meet set standards. Wet areas are not just exterior locations (though you can only use Dusk to Dawn bulbs outside). Use Wet Rated light bulbs in kitchens and bathrooms in select safety zones. Established safety zones identify areas that might be susceptible to exposure to water, such as near a bathtub or sink faucet.

What are warm lights or cool lights? What about color temperature?

Color temperatures are measured in degrees of Kelvin (K) on a scale from 1,000 to 10,000. This measurement allows you to describe the quality of a light. Commercial and residential lighting applications typically use from 2000K to 6500K color temperatures. Lower color temperatures offer a warmer look. They are more amber, yellow, or a warm white. High color temperatures offer a cooler look. They range from white to blue to blueish silver. Light can help create a mood or define room ambiance.
