> 3 dayThese were purchased to automate the carriage lights on our garage - easiest way to ensure they turn on at night and off in the morning. Work like a champ! Nicely packaged, bright, and look great. The carriage lights are just builder-basic glass enclosures and they do not interfere with the operation of the photo-sensor(s) as far as I can tell. No complaints, would order again if needed!

> 3 dayI dont often take the time to do these reviews, but these bulbs are great. Simple to use, beautiful Edison bulbs in my outdoor fixtures. I screwed them in late afternoon, turned on the switch, no lights (as expected). A couple hours later they turned themselves on at dark and look absolutely wonderful. I dont know how long these will last, but they do have a 2 year warranty and so far I cant say enough about how good they look, how nice the security of having the front of my house lit feels, and how reasonable the price is for what they are. I packed up my regular bulbs that were in the fixture and am ordering more of these to have on hand.

What is a Dusk to Dawn Sensor?
Sunco Dusk to Dawn lights improve your outdoor security and provide bright light with the convenience of automated night lighting. Our D2D bulbs turn on when the sun sets and automatically turn off when light is detected. Just switch it on to power the LED and let the included sensor do all the work. No timer is needed. Automated lighting helps create the illusion your house is occupied, even when it is not. These clever lights activate on their own so you can run a last minute errand after work and still have exterior lights on when you return after dark.
Why does my Dusk to Dawn light flash on/off?
Sometimes reflective surfaces can fool a Dusk to Dawn sensor into thinking there is sufficient light available, so the light turns itself off. It then registers no light detected and turns itself back on. This continues in a loop of off/on/off/on so that the light can appear to be strobing or flashing.
Consider these potential solutions: 1. Point lights away from one another so their beams to do not strike the D2D sensor in nearby light fixtures, 2. Use a dual bulb fixture with bulbs pointing in different directions, 3. Move a light fixture above a garage window or away from a doorway window will reduce the chances a reflective surface might mimic a light source and fool the D2D sensor.
Do I need a timer to set the Dusk to Dawn feature?
No, there is no timer needed for Dusk to Dawn bulbs. Flip on the light switch and the included Dusk to Dawn Sensor does all the work for you. It turns on when light is absent and off again when light is detected.
What does Wet Rated mean & why is it important?
The terms Wet Rated in our product descriptions and technical specifications refer to moisture ratings. Safety should be the main focus when you choose wet rated light bulbs. Since water is a conductor you want to eliminate accidental electrocution to protect the people who install and use light fixtures, including your family, visitors, and clients. Using Wet Rated light bulbs is appropriate for wet areas where dripping water, rain, or other liquid that could flow or splash against your light fixture or LED bulb. Sunco indicates the moisture rating in our technical specifications so you know our products meet set standards. Wet areas are not just exterior locations (though you can only use Dusk to Dawn bulbs outside). Use Wet Rated light bulbs in kitchens and bathrooms in select safety zones. Established safety zones identify areas that might be susceptible to exposure to water, such as near a bathtub or sink faucet.
What are warm lights or cool lights? What about color temperature?
Color temperatures are measured in degrees of Kelvin (K) on a scale from 1,000 to 10,000. This measurement allows you to describe the quality of a light. Commercial and residential lighting applications typically use from 2000K to 6500K color temperatures. Lower color temperatures offer a warmer look. They are more amber, yellow, or a warm white.
