> 24 hourWe have these on our exterior for garage and porch. They work just like we had hoped they would. They look nice, the color is a nice warm color (not a harsh/blue/intense color). They are bright enough to provide decent light without annoying next door neighbors. I cant really speak to longevity because we havent had them that long. These are great because we wanted dusk to dawn but didnt want to have to install new fixtures that have that function built in --- so they saved us money that way. I would give them a 5 star rating except that I found similar bulbs for less in a local store.

> 24 hourI bought these bulbs to populate new exterior light fixtures (pictured). Because these bulbs featured dawn-to-dusk sensing I was able to focus on other features as I selected the light fixtures (design/aesthetics, build quality, etc.). Plus its easier to replace a bulb than a fixture if the dawn-to-dusk feature fails. These decorative bulbs add a nice touch of class, emit a a soft/warm light, and work great in their dual role providing security and ambience lighting. Ive only had them in operation for a month so I cannot speak to durability - but I liked my set so much I ordered a second set for my parents who were facing similar lighting requirements. Update: A year in service now and still going strong.

What is a Dusk to Dawn Sensor?
Sunco Dusk to Dawn lights improve your outdoor security and provide bright light with the convenience of automated night lighting. Our D2D bulbs turn on when the sun sets and automatically turn off when light is detected. Just switch it on to power the LED and let the included sensor do all the work. No timer is needed. Automated lighting helps create the illusion your house is occupied, even when it is not. These clever lights activate on their own so you can run a last minute errand after work and still have exterior lights on when you return after dark.
Why does my Dusk to Dawn light flash on/off?
Sometimes reflective surfaces can fool a Dusk to Dawn sensor into thinking there is sufficient light available, so the light turns itself off. It then registers no light detected and turns itself back on. This continues in a loop of off/on/off/on so that the light can appear to be strobing or flashing.
Consider these potential solutions: 1. Point lights away from one another so their beams to do not strike the D2D sensor in nearby light fixtures, 2. Use a dual bulb fixture with bulbs pointing in different directions, 3. Move a light fixture above a garage window or away from a doorway window will reduce the chances a reflective surface might mimic a light source and fool the D2D sensor.
Do I need a timer to set the Dusk to Dawn feature?
No, there is no timer needed for Dusk to Dawn bulbs. Flip on the light switch and the included Dusk to Dawn Sensor does all the work for you. It turns on when light is absent and off again when light is detected.
What does Wet Rated mean & why is it important?
The terms Wet Rated in our product descriptions and technical specifications refer to moisture ratings. Safety should be the main focus when you choose wet rated light bulbs. Since water is a conductor you want to eliminate accidental electrocution to protect the people who install and use light fixtures, including your family, visitors, and clients. Using Wet Rated light bulbs is appropriate for wet areas where dripping water, rain, or other liquid that could flow or splash against your light fixture or LED bulb. Sunco indicates the moisture rating in our technical specifications so you know our products meet set standards. Wet areas are not just exterior locations (though you can only use Dusk to Dawn bulbs outside). Use Wet Rated light bulbs in kitchens and bathrooms in select safety zones. Established safety zones identify areas that might be susceptible to exposure to water, such as near a bathtub or sink faucet.
