Taylor of Old Bond Street Peppermint Shave Cream (5.3 oz)

I’ve been using this project since 2017. Haven’t bought anything else since. Love this shave butter.

This is the first shave cream that I have bought. I have subsisted on shave SOAPS until now. However, I am thoroughly pleased with the results of this cream. It has a wonderfully peppermint-y scent that does not cross over into smelling medicine-y like some other soaps or creams. It also does a great job of moisturizing and protecting my face while proving a smooth shave surface for my DE razor. Just a little bit (an amount about the size of my pinky nail) works for a whole shave, so this tub will last months! One side effect, that I dont mind at all, is the cool sensation that it puts on your face. Almost like a menthol feel. I think it feels great, but wanted to make sure that other knew ahead of time. PROS: Great product with a great scent! CONS: Some might not like the cooling menthol feel. Final Say: Definitely no hesitation in recommending this product to any wet shaver.

I have several TOBS soaps and they all perform well, but the Peppermint is by far my absolute favorite. The cooling effect of the soap on the skin is like having a good level of menthol without being over the top, which is truly a plus in my book. The scent is clean and pure Peppermint, you know its there as soon as you open it. After a great shave you are left with a cool moist skin feel. You can pair this scent with many of your favorite aftershaves without any problem.......It Is a Keeper.

I am a HUGE fan of Taylor of Old Bond Street. My go-to is usually the Eton College shave cream, but I am also what some might crudely call a menthol slut. Well, Clubmans Osage Rub is my guilty pleasure, so I thought a nice peppermint oil laden shaving cream by TOBS would be a great addition to my gourmet shaving kit. Boy was I right! Now, this cream wont burn your face or anything, but as you brush the lather on your face, you can instantly feel the cooling sensation. Its wonderful. You cant feel any fresher than this while shaving...or can you? Rinse off when youre done, then slap on some Osage Rub and REALLY make your eyes water! This shave cream gloriously intensifies the effect of that aftershave, which is my #1 favorite thing about it!

Great shaving cream! My first shaving cream purchase was from Taylor of Old Bond Street but the Sandalwood scented version. Eventually I ran out of the sandalwood cream, so I decided to try out the Peppermint scented version. I have to say that I enjoy the peppermint version more than the sandalwood. It is obvious that it smells like peppermint, but (and I may sound weird for saying this) it feels like peppermint. I shave with double-edged safety razor, so ideally I wet shave. When I was lathering my face with this cream all was normal, until bang! My face began to tingle. You could feel the peppermint. So if you have sensitive skin, maybe try another scent. I love this companys shaving cream because its good for your face, and a lot goes a long way.

I have heard other guys talking about the advantages of wet shaving...so i decided to start looking into it bit by bit. I bought a few shaving creams ...heres my review of TOBSs Peppermint shaving cream It arrived in a medium sized box , No fancy box like GFT shaving cream... 1- 1st thing i noticed was the neat plastic tub (which has a plastic sleeve inside) which the shaving cream came in. The smell of peppermint scent hit my nose upon opening the plastic sleeve...It looks like white sugar paste.... Wow...smells nice but its like smelling a bunch of Candy Canes(so it might put off some of you) A bit strong but fascinated me if anything. 2- One thing once i opened it i did ...was take a dab of it (almond sized) in my wet hands to see how it lathered. Whoa...like i said im a novice to this type of shaving but i was quite impressed by how lather formed in my damp hands off a small size like this. If anything it shows this is 200gm tub will last a few months if you shave every other day. (Ok i know ..i know..i need to use a shaving brush plus bowl ...ill be reviewing those at a later time) 3 Once i lathered up my face, you felt the smell of peppermint hitting your sinuses WOW...that was cool! ...after a great 1st shave ... It honestly felt great! No overwhelming smell ...a faint smell if anything afterwards. No complaints in any sense from the better half. If anything it impressed me quite a bit ....(Ive tried a few of TOBSs shaving creams. They were ok...but i still need to try 3 more to complete the line) The Peppermint Shaving Cream by TOBS is possibly the best shaving cream they have (Im going to try Sandalwood and Almond this week before i give it the crown but id say i was impressed by the uniqueness of the Peppermint smell.) I honestly cant complain about using this product...id suggest you try a TOBS shaving cream sampler (Like i said about GFT/DR Harris)... heres a place that sells sample packs. Used this the day I got it. The smell and feel of this on my face was a pleasant surprise. It does not take much to load your brush so go gentle on that part. Besides that will be buying this one again.

I accidentally sniffed lil too hard you don’t want this stuff in your nose it’s very unpleasant love they’re products though this smell is just not me
