I bought the peppermint variety of TofOBS shave cream. The reviews made it sound as if the old way of doing business is far better than the canned shave cream. I am not seeing it. Ill give them the post shave cooling effect was good. But other than that, the can is far better. Using shave creams adds 5 steps to the ritual. And creates a much bigger clean up effort. I will finish off this tub then return to canned shave cream. Write it off as a bad idea listening to a group of over zealots. Maybe I can use the bowl for small breakfasts. And Ill use the brush to dust off my defunct manual toothbrushes. Good luck with yr decision.

This is my favorite TOBS shave cream yet. It is creamy and foams up well just like any other of the TOBS shave creams. blows any can cream out of the water. My favorite part is the cooling sensation on your face from the peppermint. I look forward to shaving in the mornings with this cream. Its a great way to wake up. For those of you that have not used a shave cream like this before you will need a bowl and badger brush. It will not work well if you just rub it on your face.

I have heard other guys talking about the advantages of wet shaving...so i decided to start looking into it bit by bit. I bought a few shaving creams ...heres my review of TOBSs Peppermint shaving cream It arrived in a medium sized box , No fancy box like GFT shaving cream... 1- 1st thing i noticed was the neat plastic tub (which has a plastic sleeve inside) which the shaving cream came in. The smell of peppermint scent hit my nose upon opening the plastic sleeve...It looks like white sugar paste.... Wow...smells nice but its like smelling a bunch of Candy Canes(so it might put off some of you) A bit strong but fascinated me if anything. 2- One thing once i opened it i did ...was take a dab of it (almond sized) in my wet hands to see how it lathered. Whoa...like i said im a novice to this type of shaving but i was quite impressed by how lather formed in my damp hands off a small size like this. If anything it shows this is 200gm tub will last a few months if you shave every other day. (Ok i know ..i know..i need to use a shaving brush plus bowl ...ill be reviewing those at a later time) 3 Once i lathered up my face, you felt the smell of peppermint hitting your sinuses WOW...that was cool! ...after a great 1st shave ... It honestly felt great! No overwhelming smell ...a faint smell if anything afterwards. No complaints in any sense from the better half. If anything it impressed me quite a bit ....(Ive tried a few of TOBSs shaving creams. They were ok...but i still need to try 3 more to complete the line) The Peppermint Shaving Cream by TOBS is possibly the best shaving cream they have (Im going to try Sandalwood and Almond this week before i give it the crown but id say i was impressed by the uniqueness of the Peppermint smell.) I honestly cant complain about using this product...id suggest you try a TOBS shaving cream sampler (Like i said about GFT/DR Harris)... heres a place that sells sample packs. (http://www.maggardrazors.com/product/taylor-of-old-bond-street-sample-of-14-scents/) After trying this type of product .. Try it...youll never look back afterwards.

I have ordered this three or four times. Usually love the very peppermint scent. Last time the scent was different. I still had the tub from my last order- it was about to run out- so that I could compare. The new batch was chemically smelling. I returned it. Will probably try again in the future but not now. Let the bad batch run out first.

LOVE this..Have been using much more expensive products and tried this one...the peppermint wakes up your skin and senses. Only need to us a LITTLE on your brush and it lathers up well. The best shave cream I have used and I normally only use those from top department stores! a Wonderful product!

Great product. Smooth skin and makes your skin shine. Smells great on skin, tingles. Creamy and a little goes a looong way. Large volume so it will last a long time before running out. This is literally the best shave cream I’ve EVER used in the 40 years I’ve been shaving. Couldn’t be happier with with product. Finally..,,,,

Wow, there is so much I want to say about this product that I find it hard to begin, so lets start at the beginning... I got into traditional wet shaving about 6 months ago, I finally got tired of paying ridiculous amounts of money for multi blade cartridges that, while they did their job rather well, would only last me for 8 or maybe 10 shaves at the most. that is because I have a very hard, coarse and thick beard, and because of my job I have to be clean shaven every day. So, after reading and watching some videos about wet shaving on youtube, I decided to go to my local Target store ( I live in San Diego, Ca.) and got myself a van der haagen butterfly open safety razor, some blades, and a van der haagen shaving kit that included a shaving bowl, a badger hair brush and a shaving soap... I immediately noticed a great difference compared to the cartridges, I got a very close shave with minimal irritation, and, making my own foam with the brush and shaving soap really was a great experience, and, compared to the canned stuff I was using before, the soap felt very different in a great way. That soap lasted for about six months, I came to amazon looking for a shaving cream (looked for shaving cream in Target but they do not carry it) and decided to give Taylor of Old Bond Street peppermint shaving cream a go after reading some reviews, I also got a tub of Proraso sandalwood pre shave cream... and after coming out of the shower, I wetted my face with hot water, rubbed a bit of the Proraso pre-shave cream, took my brush and just got a litte bit of TOBS cream on the tips and started making lather on my shaving bowl... and the results where AMAZING!! Just a litte bit of cream on the tips of my brush created more than enough thick, rich, warm, creamy lather with a fantastic, delicious smell, I applied it to my face and it just felt great, again, the smell was intense and fresh and delicious and, at least to me, the combination of that scent and the sweet woody and earthy scent of the Proraso pre-shave cream was just fantastic, when applied to my face, it felt like cream and I felt the invigorating kick of the peppermint. The difference between this cream and the soap I was previously using is enormous, and, compared to the canned stuff I was using for 20 years up to 6 months ago is just... abismal!! I was a bit worried that the scent would be a bit overbearing, or that the peppermint in the cream would be so strong that it would burn my face, but that was not the case, when youre whipping up this stuff and when you put it in your face, the scent is strong without being overbearing and once you are done and you rinse your face, you are left with a little bit of the scent and a fresh feeling. I totally recommend this product, I like it so much, that I will get some for my brothers and for my dad.
