Smells amazing, leaves skin feeling fresh. Use about almond size of lather in an Old Spice shaving mug and whip it up. I really enjoy the smell, it isnt overpowering but you definitely know it is there. The peppermint leaves your skin feeling refreshed. Nice tub, has a clear plastic sealing lid underneath the screw on lid -this helped on another Taylor I had sent and must of flipped a 100 times in the box. If the shaving cream moves to the top while you have the sealing lid in there, you can just easily scrap it back into the tub. If this lid wasnt there you would have to fish it out of the screw on lid which would be more of a pain. Very nice add on to the Taylor of Old Bond Shave cream tubs.

Your razor glides over your skin with no effort and produces nice smooth shave. One if the best ! Favorite scent of this creame is sandalwood, then cedar, and finally peppermint. (never have tried the rose) Sandalwood have been 5 stars all the way across.

After trying this, I personally think that it is a little over rated and a little over priced. I will not purchase this again, though I do not regret buying it and may consider trying some of the other products in their lineup. Also, this is a cream, and I am more of a soap person come to find out. The Good: First of all, this stuff absorbs A TON of water, which means a small dab will make A LOT of lather. I love the smell of peppermint, and the scent is good on this product. The lather that it does make is very thick and provides cushion. The Bad: Though peppermint smells great, I found it to be a little irritating on my skin. If you have sensative skin, you may want to stay away. I can not seem to get the lather slick enough for my taste. So between that and the peppermint oil causing some irritation I can easily get razor burn while using this product that I do not experience with other soaps and creams. Now since I like shaving soaps better I did try to mix some of this cream with one of my cheaper no frills soaps that I have. And WOW, that is now the way I use this stuff. I lather up my brush with the soap, then I put a dab of this on there. This makes what I call an Ultra lather, and thus ends up both thick and full like the cream aspect, but also makes it slick like a soap. With that combination I get no razor burn and the peppermint oil is not irritating my skin. This makes it useable so it wont go to waste. However, for the price there are some really nice soaps out there that do not require mixing in another product to make it the way I like it. As with any kind of soap / cream shaving supply, the usage and review takes into account my preferences and experiences with the product. I know that hardness of water will effect which types of soaps and creams you will like. SO as they say, your mileage may vary.

I purchased this not knowing what to expect. I normally use the sandalwood from TOBS and love it. Upon using the peppermint shaving cream, I was sold and will always have a bowl of this with my shave supplies. Of all the ways to wake up in the morning, this is the best. It feels great after it is lathered on and leaves your face feeling great after. It does not leave a noticeable scent which is key. You dont want to walk around smelling like a candy cane. I highly recommend this product, sure it is a little more expensive than other creams, but it isnt one to be used all the time. Save it as a treat. Now add this to your cart now, you will not regret it.

Switching from cartridge to double edge is an easy transition so long as you follow some best practices, (good razor, blades to match your beard and...), a good quality soap or cream. I have always preferred the tingle of a good menthol shave cream, so when I spied the peppermint TOBS I decided to give it a try. First: The point of the shave cream is to provide adequate lubrication. This product performed extremely well, and beyond my expectation. It is forgiving... if your mix is a little thin, or even a bit stiff, there is enough tolerance in this product that you will not suffer for it. 45 seconds to a minute in a bowl with a brush and you will have a lather second to none. Second: PEPPERMINT. Having been a fan of menthol creams out of a can, I was absolutely delighted with this cream. Aside from the cool sensation, the crisp scent added a bonus. Ive never been one for the heavy fruity odors or sandalwood aromas. I just got out of the shower and am thinking CLEAN. There is no after-image of peppermint. After you rinse and pat dry, there is a tingle that is gone along with the peppermint scent in a minute or two. Excellent. Lastly: I am somewhat new to safety razor shaving after 40+ years with electric then cartridge. You owe it to yourself to take a chore and turn it into a manly moment of pleasure.

For some reason I envisioned this to be a solid, it isnt. It is a cream about the consistency of thick pudding. I intended this to work in my shaving cup and brush, it doesnt work that way. You can put it in your shaving cup and dip your brush into it, but you cannot make a lather in the cup. Nothing at all wrong with the product, good lather, smells great, smooth shave. It is just not meant for a shaving cup. Ill keep it and use it up, but will search for a good solid shaving soap to go in the shaving cup. Anyone have any recommendations? It would have been helpful if in the description it said, a semi-liquid shaving cream to be used out of its own container and not suitable for a shaving cup or some such description.

I use a safety razor every 2 days and I have been pleased with this shaving cream. Most creams this thick gum up and prevent the razor from getting close enough to the skin. This one doesnt. The consistency is adjustable from a thick layer for long hair to a thin layer (that still sticks!) for a reverse pass. The peppermint smell is strong but natural.

Tobh is great. This is my favorite shave cream so far. It does not have that menthol cooling effect, but it does have a great tingly fresh clean feeling to it. Ill rebuy this one next time. It lasts forever. I wont go into how great Tobh shave creams are. Others have summed it up a million times over. best shave cream ive ever used.
