Just put it in the filter box and you can see the water get a little clearer in just an hour or so. I waited too long before I ordered the replacement.

When it arrived, the Amazon packaging was fine, but the original box that the filters were in was ripped, bent, and open. I had to use packing tape just to put it back together enough to store it in my cabinet.
