I use Home Assistant and prefer flashable devices that I can control locally with installing vendor apps or having network traffic round-trip to the public internet to control a plug sitting right next to me on the same LAN. These flashed Tasmota without issues using Tuya-Convert running on an old Raspberry Pi 1 I had lying around. To save someone else the trouble, here is the required Tasmota template: {NAME:TGWF115PRM,GPIO:[0,56,0,17,134,132,0,0,131,57,21,0,0],FLAG:0,BASE:18} I have not yet fully calibrated the energy usage yet, but did set the voltage using the VoltageSet command on the console. There is a page on the Tasmota Github site on power monitoring calibration for those interested. I am thrilled about the value of these devices -- they are as inexpensive as the Sonoff Basic but do not require soldering headers to flash or cutting power cords to install. Flash OTA; Plug; Play!

At a time when several vendors of smart plugs and switches are locking down their firmware, TopGreener still allows reflashing with Tasmota which made it easy to integrate into my Home Assistant system. The tasmota template is the same as their TGWF115APM and I have submitted it for inclusion. The size and shape allows two of them to be plugged into the same outlet. Im not going to use it with Alexa so I couldnt comment on that feature and I dont know why Amazon is asking me to rate the warmth of the product :-)

I was looking to replace some cheapy analog dial timers that eventually will wear out/lose time. Im not controlling anything heavy duty right now. I have no Alexa or similar device (nor do I want one) so I downloaded the Topgreener app to my cell. It was easy to install & works flawlessly so far. The units were easy to activate & program. One unit controls an LED window candle with negligible power draw. Another controls an old-style electric blanket (on-off, temp control with no auto-off) so things are toasty come bedtime. A third controls a manual slow cooker so if the cooking time is shorter than the time Im away, I can either turn the unit off or start it later. They seem to have the ability to ride out at least a short-term power outage. I shut the circuit off that had the night light in order to install an AFCI in the lead receptacle position. After about 15 minutes I turned the power back on & later that evening the light came on as programmed & has functioned correctly ever since. A nice feature is the Statistics where you can check the receptacle voltage, current draw, & kWh consumption. Im pretty impressed with the units & the app. Ive purchased two sets & will not hesitate to purchase more should the need arise.

I missed the return window by 3 days so I’m stuck with it. It does not give you live power consumption so that sucks. Sometimes updates every few min standing next to it, other times take 15-30 min or more. I’ll prob throw these in the garage sale bin and try another brand......

Love that it doesnt cover a second outlet! I dont use the TopGreener app but Kenhub or something instead and it works well. I wish I cold just have a widget to tap to turn on/off switches without it opening the app again or if I can have it for less than 4-5 smart plugs (the widget is big). I havent tried linking it to Alexa yet because Im lazy and its in a different room. I use it for a light so I can get into bed without tripping over things and dying.

These were so handy for easily turning off and all my Christmas lights! No more crawling beneath the tree to plug and unplug, or going out in cold weather to turn off outside lights. Just a swish of my phone and I was able to turn any of the plugs off or on in seconds. looking forward to finding more uses for them throughout the year.

The 2 smart plugs cam in a very nice and neat cardboard box. I haven’t tried the plugs yet, but I was taking them out of the box, in order to use the first one and noticed that the plastic adhesive that goes over the plugs to keep the pugs clean was dirty. As I was pulling it out, I happened to look at the plastic adhesive and it looked like the person adding there plastic adhesive films to the plugs, must have been stuck to their dirty workbench and then stuck to the plug. All that I would like to say about that is, it would be best to have a clean workplace for that worker, so the adhesive doesn’t look bad. I haven’t unpacked or used the plug yet, so I can’t speak to how good or not the plug is. I will update, once I have pulled the plug out and start working with it.

The outlets worked as described but one was used, this was indicated by the plastic covers missing and when registered it showed power usage from month prior to me buying it... It kinda makes me nervous from a network securities aspect but it does work as described I guess....

I got these before they upgraded and made smaller outlet devices but these were perfectly fine. I use these to monitor the electricity usage for my air conditioners and in the winter time for the space heaters. This way I know exactly how much electricity the air conditioners and space heaters are using and I can estimate my bill. I could also use them to monitor and reduce the amount of electricity Im using. Simply by turning the air conditioner up or the space heater down youll notice a big change in the amount of electricity used and the amount you have to pay simply by having this little device at home.

Set up: could not for the life of me get these set up with an Android device. Tried my phone and tablet, but while I could get them on the network with both, they just wouldnt detect beyond that. I had to borrow my daughters iPhone to get them into our account. That worked like a champ. Once paired, the Android devices work fine. Usage: Seems flawless. Easily paired with Alexa, can turn the plugs on and off with the app, or by calling out for Alexa to do it. power usage, what I bought this for primarily, is pretty cool Keeps track over time in a handy graph. Exactly what I needed.
