> 3 dayI had attached this to an insta-hot water dispenser, first left the smart plug remain on 24/7 for a week to obtain a baseline of my hot water dispensers energy usage, then I set it on a schedule to eliminate 10 hrs out of the day, when I wouldnt be needing my HW dispenser and I saw a ±20% reduction in the energy use, so the energy tracking of this smart plug appears to be working fairly accurately. The insta-HW dispenser has a pretty high energy demand to heat/maintain the water to 180°F, so this smart plug is capable/rated for high wattage devices. Highly recommended!

> 3 dayAt first these worked great. I used them to monitor a grow tent to see how much electricity it was using and to time the light cycles. It worked for a few weeks but then the light timer just decided to stop working and killed my plants. I even chopped it up to a power surge of some sort and added a surge protector and started over. Then it happened again with no disruption in power. These are trash unfortunately, can’t trust them to simply turn off power on a timed schedule. And they are a pain to connect to the WiFi which adds another level of annoyance so my advice is to look elsewhere.

> 3 dayIt works as described. I randomly turn lights on and off while on vacation. I also monitor energy usage of the two wall air-conditioners i have. I wish it would let me monitor i finer time than hours. But it does what i want.

> 3 dayI had a recent power bill that was up 50% from the month before and I had not even used the heat or A/C for 30 days so it had to be something in the house. Bought this 2 pack, and while the installation took a bit (has to be 2.4.ghz band on your wi-fi - including the device used to install) they are working as described. It would be nice if the app would allow you to add the local rate for $ charged for power so it could give you a reasonably accurate amount that you are using in a money factor. On a side note, I would not consider this to be an essential item, but it was delivered in 48 hours per PRIME. Nothing that is being sold by Amazon is arriving in less than a week - even when my vehicle was out of commission waiting for car parts.

> 3 dayI got the two pack of this on a deal. it came out to about $20 each. I like that the set up was easy. The feel of the product seems sturdy and heavy duty. I like that it is 15A and I can run a small space heater on it during the winter. I use it to turn on a lamp in the living room while I am away to let people think that someone is home. The only thing I dont like about it is the size. It is much bigger than I thought it would be. I can see how its size would be a problem if the outlet is near furniture. But once you put it on the wall, you leave it there and you dont think about it anymore.

21-11-2024These are off by default when they are powered up so dont use this on fridge/freezers because if there is even a short power outage these will stay off and your food will get spoiled if you dont notice. They work well otherwise and allowed me to determine the actual power usage of appliances and turn them on and off remotely.

> 3 dayThe functionality, capability, and ease of use are exceptional. Operation, power consumption monitoring, timer setup, et al, right from your phone! The only issue is with the setup and enabling. There is a quick setup that didnt work for me (nor for my friend), and the manual setup instructions are not correct. Through trial and error, got it working. Setup aside, I absolute love these.

> 3 dayA very simple easy to install wifi device for your home security. We bought multiple timers for different rooms when we were traveling. We were able to manage the device timings and intervals remotely with their app. Supports multiple on/off intervals per day and also different intervals on different days of the week. Good price as well. Awesome product. Just buy it.

> 3 dayI liked the first one so much that I bought another because I liked the energy use monitoring and how many scheduling and integration features the app provides. And then realized I had enough other IoT devices like this lately that maybe it was time to put them on a separate dedicated Wi-Fi guest network on my router that cant see the rest of my sensitive internal network … just in case the device mfr doesnt do a great job of security testing as you read a lot these days. The bad news first? - If you need to change the plugs Wi-Fi settings, you have to reset it - and you lose all your schedules and have to set them all back up again. Interestingly, my energy use history was retained as its likely linked back in the cloud to the unique MAC or device ID. Why the schedules couldnt also be retained I consider a bug. - The phone app MUST be on the same network to discover the plug. You cant tell the plug to use a different guest SSID network. So you first have to switch your phone Wi-Fi to that dedicated network you want the plug on and THEN also have to make sure that guest network temporarily allows all devices to see each other or the app times out. - At least the Android app is a bit quirky. It takes several taps on the plug icon on the main homepage to select it despite plug readily working. Annoying. The good news? - Once the plug is on your dedicated IoT network and you switch your phone back to the full Wi-Fi network, the plug still works and RESPONSIVE too. So apparently the phone app no longer needs a direct network connection and everything bounces from TopGreeners cloud servers quite quickly!

Greater than one weekI used one on my washing machine and set up a notification to alert me when the power dropped to zero and a load was finished. Works great! Doesnt work real well if you have too many people logged into the app tho, at most two. Super handy and no more forgotten laundry in the washer to grow moldy and stinky!
