> 24 hourWe installed some string lights on our patio a while back, which we love, but since we also sometimes use the patio for an outdoor movie theater the lights were always a bit too bright. We had searched for a wall switch dimmer but the one that we would have needed for our setup would have been extremely expensive, and would not work for our incandescent lights. The Treatlive Outdoor Dimmer was our solution! It made it extremely easy to use as we didnt have to change out the wall switch inside our home, just plug it into the outlet and the lights into that, and you are ready to go! Since it is weatherproof it makes it nice as it is outside at all times ( as the outlet is near the roofline, it is not easy to remove ). Now we can easily dim the lights for the movies or turn them up to full brightness when we need the area well lit. It is great! The Treatlife app was simple to download and install and had it working in just a few minutes. We connected it to our Alexa devices so we can now just say Turn on the Patio Lights and it works! The dimming feature works really well with these lights as it does dim them very low if needed. We can now enjoy our patio lights...and the movies at the same time! We would highly recommend

> 24 hourPaired this with bright tech outdoor lights. The app also n this thing is super user friendly and I couldn’t imagine having anything else. This thing is tough and has been in our enclosed back porch for a year with absolutely no issues. It had a lot of use over the summer months and can’t wait to use it again!

> 24 hourProduct works well and is easy to install. More impressive is the customer service. The initial item I received got water in it during a heavy rainstorm due to the angle it was sitting (definitely have the outlet opening facing down!). One quick email and a new one was sent out to replace it (which has now survived successive rainstorms suggesting it might have been more user error than product error).

> 24 hourAfter 1 season, my product stopped working. I emailed the seller and asked if it would be allowable to get a replacement. They were very accommodating to my request and sent one out immediately! Let the seller.

> 24 hourOn the plus side, this was the only dimmer which could handle enough wattage for my application, worked with LEDs, and had some means of remote control. Minus number 1: The ONLY way to control it is through the phone app. It MUST be connected to your WiFi; therefore it has access to the entirety of your LAN, unless you hook it up to a Guest WiFI (recommended for security). The privacy policy notes that it will share whatever data it can glean with law enforcement, which, since the company is in China, means the Chinese Communist Party. It notes specifically that the laws under which it operates are not the same as those of your own country. Minus number 2: Although it claims to connect with Alexa and Google Home (I have neither, so I have not tested it), there is no way to integrate it with other home control devices. I specifically asked their tech support if there was an API, and they said there wasnt. I tried to http to its address on my LAN, but it did not respond (at least on port 80). It does integrate with IFTTT, and I have used this successfully to implement a schedule. But I cant sense its state, or control it with my home control system (Indigo on a Mac). Minus number 3: It looses much of its state if unplugged, in a power failure, or if it is otherwise powered down. It forgets its dim range setting and dim mode (there are 3 of them, which are not explained in the manual; the only way to see if one works is to experiment blindly without advance knowledge of how it will affect the load) and resets them to its default values. Fortunately it remembers your WiFi name and password. Minus number 4: The group settings dont synchronize properly. One can establish, say, a group of 2 dimmers. One then has 3 members in the app user interface; lets call them Dimmer1, Dimmer2, and Group. If one turns both Dinmer1 and Dimmer2 on, Group may still display as OFF. If one turns Group on, then IFTTT turns Group off, Group may still display as ON in the app. There are other examples of this lack of consistency, but I cant remember them and they may not even be reproducible. I havent done extensive testing.

> 24 hour***Updated Review*** This is advertised as a dimmable WiFi controller. It does dim, but only 18%? Seriously? 18%? Dont get me wrong, I know most LED lights and controllers struggle with dimming, but even the worst one I have in my house can go to at least 10%. Alexa integration was a pain, but Im tech savvy and figured it out soon enough. The key is, that despite having an app for this dimmer called Treat Life, when you do the integration with Alexa, you have to search for Smart Life. If you already have the Smart Life skill added to Alexa, you have to disable it, and then add it back and sign in with your Treat Life account you used when you setup the app. Not exactly a friendly approach to enabling the smart skill, especially if you use Smart Life for other things (I dont). After that comes the interaction with Alexa...She cant dim the lights (or at least she cant dim MY lights). Turn them on and off, yup, no problem. Alexa, Dim the lights to (eh hem) 18%? - nothing. Ok, pull the app out, dim the lights to 18%...yup, that works.... OK, Alexa integration is a slight issue...move on. Hey, its waterproof...so far. ***Update*** After I wrote my review a representative reached out and offered a replacement device. Im hopeful this new device works better and has more dimming range.

> 24 hourBought this to control my new outdoor patio hanging lights. Works perfectly! I set it up using the Tuya Smart app (which I already had, that controls many devices in my house). Plugged it in, fired up the Tuya Smart app, and the app immediately recognized it as a new device and allowed me to add it. I am able to remotely turn the lights on/off, dim and schedule them. Works with Alexa via the Tuya Smart skill. No issues picking up the wifi signal in my backyard.

> 24 hourIt is great being able to run this from your phone. The app has a lot of options and is easy to use once you play with it a bit to understand the interface. Be aware though, that if you are going to use this with lights that have their own control box, it may nor work. I tried using it with Philips 70 mini lights - 8 color and motion effects. Even with the dimmer set to 100% these lights would not turn on at all. On Standard and LED Dimmable strands though, they work well.
