Once I figured out how to set it up, it works great. Video quality is great and mouse and keyboard switches nicely. At first I thought it didnt work but found out that the first time used, the switch must be in the position of the computer before booting the computer. Then switch to other position and boot up that computer. If you dont have it switched to the booting computer, the mouse and keyboard will not be recognized. The video switch works regardless of how the switch is positioned at boot.

I am working from home as a school teacher and my second job in finance. My school has a MAC and my other job, a PC. Essentially, I had two stations set up and it was taking up a lot of room. I figured there had to be a way to connect both computers to one monitor and be able to switch back and forth. This product solved the issue. Quick Set up ----------------- I connected my MAC using a VGA cable (because its a Macbook Air, I have a dongle to connect the VGA cable to my MAC.) to the switch box. Then, I use the black USB cord (comes with the switch box) that connected my MAC to the switch box. Next, I connected my PC using a VGA cable to the switch box. Then, I used the black USB cord (comes with the switch box) that connected my PC to the switch box. Finally, I used a third VGA cable to connect my monitor to the switch box. I used a generic wireless USB mouse and a keyboard (MAC or PC keyboards work for this interchangeably). There are two USB slots for this on the switch box. A few second delay and the computers now switch back and forth between the two. Its perfect!! Also, I used a USB cord that connects a second monitor from my PC to another monitor and so I can use a split screen when using my PC. Very simply, very easy and well worth the price for what Im trying to do.

worked well dont forget you need a separate VGA cable. also only works with VGA hook up not HDMI OR DVI connections.

Its great. Small and compact, so doesnt take up a lot of space. I have one monitor, keyboard/mouse, and printer but now I can go back and forth between mylaptop and my desktop computer. And I use the monitor as a second monitor with my laptop, which is what I really needed but dont have any space left on my desk. Really just a push of a button and within 2-3 seconds, it all switches.

Im a big fan of plug and play things. And this switch box is that. The indicator light on top tells me which computer the monitor is presently hooked up to, and simple push of the button on top instantly changes it.

Only needed a way to share wireless keyboard and mouse. I have a Logitech combo, with a single USB receiver that runs the keyboard and mouse. Took longer to unpackage than to connect. Worked right out of the box. If you need more than just keyboard/mouse sharing, keep in mind this ONLY has 2 outputs for video, and they are both VGA.

I received this only today, and already I love it! I already had VGA cables connected so it was easy to swap them into this KVM switch. Running a single USB cable (provided with this switch) to each computer was also painless, and I was happy to see both my computers working with only one monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I did have one small problem that is worth noting so others do not repeat my error. I thought I unplugged the mouse from both computers and plugged in the USB cable from the KVM switch. One computer worked perfectly, but the mouse did not work on the other computer. I noticed that the original mouse that was connected to that computer still did work, so I quickly realized that the USB I unplugged from that computer was not the mouse I wanted to remove. I followed the cable from that mouse and then removed it. After that, the mouse and keyboard worked flawlessly with both computers. Five stars for sure!

Ok, I told my work IT guy about getting a switch box, and he said, dah, welcome to the new century. I go back and forth with my work laptop and created a separate set up with a desk, monitor, and keyboard in a 200 sq ft apartment for my work computer. I get this, and boom, my life has changed(a little). This magic box works and works great for me. In the words of my IT guy..........Dah $20 bucks...........buy it.

I did a lot of research for my unique situation. One monitor, one mouse, one keyboard, and a HDMI laptop and VGA laptop. This product solved it. Im now able to switch between one computer to the other (work and personal) with a click of a button. The only thing to note is that the computer has to be off or sleeping in order for the monitor to switch (this wouldnt be a problem with two VGA inputs). I found a script online that allows me to turn off my monitor to accomplish this in an automated way. Again, this is due to my unique situation. Love the switch otherwise.
