This is a great product that allows you to easily switch between two computers using only 1 mouse,1 keyboard and 1 monitor. But..... You need to have a total of 3 Cables for the monitor hookup to work, and they do not give you any, so keep that in mind. However although I do not remember seeing this in the description, they do give you the all the cables with the unit that are needed to connect up the keyboard and mouse.

I wanted to keep my 10 year old Dell since it had programs no longer available, but I replaced it with another computer with a SSD drive and a 1 TB mechanical drive. Wife is working from home and decided on this unit to go back and forth between her work laptop and her personal one with just a single mouse and keyboard. She is very happy and productive. Just be sure to get TWO serial cables to connect the computers to the box!

I received this only today, and already I love it! I already had VGA cables connected so it was easy to swap them into this KVM switch. Running a single USB cable (provided with this switch) to each computer was also painless, and I was happy to see both my computers working with only one monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I did have one small problem that is worth noting so others do not repeat my error. I thought I unplugged the mouse from both computers and plugged in the USB cable from the KVM switch. One computer worked perfectly, but the mouse did not work on the other computer. I noticed that the original mouse that was connected to that computer still did work, so I quickly realized that the USB I unplugged from that computer was not the mouse I wanted to remove. I followed the cable from that mouse and then removed it. After that, the mouse and keyboard worked flawlessly with both computers. Five stars for sure!

good product does what is expected,

I am using this device to move between two different PCs, so I do not have to use 2 keyboard and mice. Device works great. Have not had any issues.

For those with only the monitor working, make sure your USB1 and VGA1 match the system connection. Or simply switch the USB lines to your two workstations to correct this problem. This KVM worked to support two laptop docking stations sharing a single keyboard and mouse. It also continued to support the smart card in the keyboard with no issues. This also solved a problem with USB devices not responding and requiring a disconnect from the back of the docking station to correct the error state. This KVM allows simple access in the front to disconnect and reconnect for a simple reset. One of the laptops also supports a second monitor via DVI. An outdated or old video driver may not support this option for you but mine simply places all of the apps back on the main display. This is a work laptop that I cannot update but I can live with the inconvenience.

Now able to use two computers and the same keyboard, mouse, and monitor so it saves a great deal of desk space.

I attached the unit to my computer and alarm system to switch on the screen for my cameras. You must use the USB connections to power the unit for each connection.

Got this to share a monitor between home computer and home security cameras. Very cool and less money than buying a new monitor. Just don’t forget to buy (2) VGA cables as you can use your current cable to connect the monitor to this splitter but you need one to connect to computer and one to connect to cameras. Amazon has them for $8. Toggle button feels nice and clicky and durable. Hope it lasts a long time.
