I was a bit nervous about this product when I read some of the 1 star reviews about it not working properly. However, I just got it today and followed the instructions of another reviewer of booting up each computer separately, and everything is working perfectly for me to use 1 monitor, 1 mouse and 1 keyboard for 2 computers. Very happy and excited with this purchase.

2 computers, one monitor. Easy to switch the monitor between them.

First, the product “works” and I knew about some of the dislikes before I ordered. But, one new “dislike” has arisen and others are more of an inconvenience than I realized. I used this to hook up my desktop computer and my security system to one monitor. I had no need for keyboard or mouse connections or the USB ports. I just switched from another brand that I’ve had two quit working in less than two years. So, first, major dislike that presented a problem for me with my particular install: 1) You HAVE to hook up the USB ports for power! I didn’t have a USB port on my security camera so I ran two from the computer, but that meant using all of my slots and running cords out of the front of the computer. :( 2) Minor dislike that I knew about but didn’t realize the inconvenience: The switch is on the top, not front. With my old switch, I could easily reach the front switch. To easily reach this switch I would have to put the whole box out in front of things (the monitor in particular). 3) That brings up the third, minor inconvenience. The cables do not all come out of the back. If they all came out of the back, it would be more convenient to put the switch out in front of the monitor (between the monitor base and the monitor itself). However, with one cable coming out the side, that makes for a very unruly set up. So again, it works. I just have more cables and a more unruly set up than my previous switch, and I have to reach behind my monitor to switch inputs. And, I don’t know that it will last any longer than my previous two switches.....

It did exactly what it said and worked with my Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse. I can use 2 PCs with one monitor and one keyboard and mouse set with the click of a button to determine which PC is displaying on the screen. Note: this is not for dual monitors; though I have dual monitors; in this case you can use dual monitors on on of the two PCs but when you switch you only have a single monitor. Affordable and does what is says and more (it did not advertise that it would work with wireless accessories).

Now able to use two computers and the same keyboard, mouse, and monitor so it saves a great deal of desk space.

For what it does and the ease with which it does it, this little widget is fine. Switch is very fast. Versus direct connection between pc and monitor, theres no observable difference in video or keyboard and mouse response. I would give it 5 stars if not for the fact that when either my desktop or laptop goes to sleep, neither one will resync with the KB and mouse when they wake. Does anybody else have this problem? The only only way to get them to resync is to hard power cycle. Sure, I could turn off sleep but I dont want to run my devices 24/7. Or I could do full shutdowns and then wait for boot up every time I wanna use my gear. Thats annoying since Im on and off multiple times a day.

I am very satisfied with this system connecting two computers to a common, display, mouse and keyboard. My keyboard is old so I needed a PS/2 to a USB Converter Adapter. I also had to supply two VGA (male/male) to connect the new box to each computer. Fortunately I already had two of them. Prior to purchase there was one thing was confusing. Looking at the picture of the front of the unit there are two ports labeled USB 2.0 power port 2x. These are obviously not USB ports on the front of the box. Two cables that are supplied with the box convert these two ports to USB to connect to each of the computers. Everything works well out of the box...the first time! Now I can isolate one computer from the internet for storage and local purposes and continue to use an outdated operating system to continue to run outdated software. Problem solved.

Love this switch! Simply put it works fantastic! Easy to install and switches between computers with the touch of a button. Used my wired keyboard and wireless mouse and it works perfectly!

Have tried several of these switch boxes. None of them worked as I thought they should. Little to big glitches in each and everyone until this great little box. Easy to hook up and works flawlessly. Live it. I would reccomend to any and all.
