Connected Lenovo ThinkPad laptop with ThinkPad USB-C UltraDock and HP EliteBook laptop to the shared 27 Samsung monitor and the wireless Logitech keyboard/mouse set. Everything worked like a champ! The package contained 2 USB Type B connectors cables, and no VGA cables. Very nice feature - its a self-powered device via USB connections from the laptops.

Used this with limited desk space to hook up my Linux box and my Windows 10 computer. Linux box had no problem switching back and forth, but Windows 10 computer needs a tweak for best performance. Now, switching back and forth from Linux to Windows and I have NO problems at all. Follow this tweak to disable Windows fast start up. (You wont notice any slow down in start-ups) 1) Go to Control Panel and click on Power Options. 2) In the menu on the left-hand side click Choose what the power buttons do. 3) Click Change settings currently unavailable. 4) Under Shut-down settings, UN-TICK the Turn on fast start-up box. Shut down PC ... Turn ON again ... Both monitors display fine and all is well!

Finally, a product that works

I had tried a different dual monitor KVM and it just did NOT work out with my laptop and personal desktop set up. I re-arranged my monitors and opted for this single monitor KVM and it works like a breeze. Simply pushing a button lets me switch between my work laptop and personal computer. I recommend it!

This is a great product that allows you to easily switch between two computers using only 1 mouse,1 keyboard and 1 monitor. But..... You need to have a total of 3 Cables for the monitor hookup to work, and they do not give you any, so keep that in mind. However although I do not remember seeing this in the description, they do give you the all the cables with the unit that are needed to connect up the keyboard and mouse.

This does the job I need just fine. Not difficult to set up. I was a bit disconcerted about the blackout when switching between computers but I guess Ill get used to the delay. I agree with another review that said the pubs and wires are all over the place, not as best organized as possible, but thats a minor fault to me.

I received this only today, and already I love it! I already had VGA cables connected so it was easy to swap them into this KVM switch. Running a single USB cable (provided with this switch) to each computer was also painless, and I was happy to see both my computers working with only one monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I did have one small problem that is worth noting so others do not repeat my error. I thought I unplugged the mouse from both computers and plugged in the USB cable from the KVM switch. One computer worked perfectly, but the mouse did not work on the other computer. I noticed that the original mouse that was connected to that computer still did work, so I quickly realized that the USB I unplugged from that computer was not the mouse I wanted to remove. I followed the cable from that mouse and then removed it. After that, the mouse and keyboard worked flawlessly with both computers. Five stars for sure!

This is a cost effective, albeit low tech solution to the problem of how to share one monitor, keyboard and mouse between two Windows computers. I have two desktops side by side, a main one (Windows 10) for heavier usage, and the other an older one (Windows 7) used as a hard drive back-up and for the kids to use. Its an easy push button press on the unit to toggle between the two and the keyboard and mouse work flawlessly on both sides. My main criticism is that you cant share a set of speakers between the two... or if you can I havent figured out how because there is no audio jack. It means the older desktop remains silent unless we use headphones. Another flaw is that the two included USB cables are too short for me to mount the unit on my desk as Id intended, and instead it has to sit atop one of the desktops. Buyers should also note VGA cables are NOT included and youll need three in total - so you must purchase a couple more for this to work, unless you already have spares. Printed instructions that come with the unit are basic, although set up is not hard.

I am working from home as a school teacher and my second job in finance. My school has a MAC and my other job, a PC. Essentially, I had two stations set up and it was taking up a lot of room. I figured there had to be a way to connect both computers to one monitor and be able to switch back and forth. This product solved the issue. Quick Set up ----------------- I connected my MAC using a VGA cable (because its a Macbook Air, I have a dongle to connect the VGA cable to my MAC.) to the switch box. Then, I use the black USB cord (comes with the switch box) that connected my MAC to the switch box. Next, I connected my PC using a VGA cable to the switch box. Then, I used the black USB cord (comes with the switch box) that connected my PC to the switch box. Finally, I used a third VGA cable to connect my monitor to the switch box. I used a generic wireless USB mouse and a keyboard (MAC or PC keyboards work for this interchangeably). There are two USB slots for this on the switch box. A few second delay and the computers now switch back and forth between the two. Its perfect!! Also, I used a USB cord that connects a second monitor from my PC to another monitor and so I can use a split screen when using my PC. Very simply, very easy and well worth the price for what Im trying to do.
