This little gadget is amazing for removing solder. I restored a trs80 Model 4 keyboard with this baby. Got the solder molten then let the tool do the rest... a nice and clean solder pad ready for new solder. Would not go without it, literally could not at this point.

This tool removes solder from boards and connectors really well. It sometimes gets plugged up if there is an excess of solder but its easy to clear. It comes with extra tip material but Im still on the original. Not something I need everyday but it did facilitate me replacing a channel pot on a circuit board and saving $2500 for a radio replacement.

Quality tool that makes desoldering components a breeze. Im only disappointed I didnt get one sooner. The silicone tube on the end is great for creating a seal around the molten solder so it is all sucked up. You can unscrew the nozzle on the end to empty out all of the solder bits when youre done.

These look nice, I thought the price would validate by way of quality and it did not. I bought two and both have failed miserably in a short time. After a lengthy disassembly and repair they still didnt last but a few pumps and then jammed all over again. I waited too long to return mine so Im out 60 bucks - thats my fault. I bought 5 of the blue and silver cheap ones for less than one I.S.S. SS-02 and theyre still going strong after 2 yrs of regular use. They have never failed even once. The Igineer Solder Sucker SS-02 performed excellent the few times it actually worked, I was impressed at first, Then it became a source of frustration. I wish I had given more attention to the lower reviews that were very specific about the issues rather than saying how great it was. Like the clogging, solder sticking to the inside of the nozzle end, slippery, the barrels inability to handle the flakes inside, the cleaning, how high maintenance they are and still fail. Getting two bad ones cant be coincidence to me. Im a professional business owner and soldering electronics is part of my service. Hopefully theyll address the issue and fix the defects. When they do, Ill give them another try but not until then. Maybe youll have better luck than I did. Take care and I hope this helps.

I was tired of those cheap plastic and metal solder suckers failing on me, usually by going off at the most inopportune time. After reading other reviews I went for the Vampire VT-001-SS and go glad I did. It made my unsoldering jobs so much easier. The main difference is the silicone nozzle that fits nicely around the components and sucks everything up in one go. I had no idea that itd be so easy to get a nice, clean solder removal. How this would work for a professional, I have no idea, but for a hobbyist like myself, this was just perfect and highly recommend.

This is the real deal! The minute you pick it up you know that this is a high quality product. It makes the multitude of products from China so inferior that you realize it in an instant. Better yet, is that it is a fraction of the size of all those clumsy and bulkier units that makes them so hard to use and control. This unit is a real pleasure to use and well worth the few extra dollars. Save your self a lot of aggravation and get it, you won’t regret it!

This thing feels solid, it has great suction, the silicone tip forms well around the solder joint, and basically its pretty awesome. I had an old radio shack solder sucker that had some stiff white nozzle that made it hard to get a good seal. Lost it somewhere while moving. Got a free one with a solder station I bought. Build quality was absolute garbage, it felt like a 25 cent giveaway at a convention. Had to buy a new one. Couldnt be happier and worth every penny.
