> 3 dayI love this knife so much that I bought one for my best friend for Christmas this year. Being so long, its great for chopping nuts because it fits all the way across the nuts as they expand during chopping. Great for melons and large squashes. Cutting fudge, brownies, cakes, etc. is easy. My only complaint is that the knifes handle grip is slightly taller than the knife blade, so the handle hits the cutting surface and suspends the handle end of the knife blade a tiny bit above the cutting surface. The blade should be a little deeper than the handle, not vice-versa. But the blade length is special and very, very useful. It more than offsets the small flaw in the handle height.

> 3 dayWe purchased this for Thanksgiving this year to cut the turkey and it was wildly successful. The blade makes it incredibly easy to cut through large slices of meat, and keep Is it the same width throughout the whole slice. Its also very easy to clean although it is large so storage can be tough depending on your drawer space. Overall I would recommend!

> 3 dayAs a retired professional chef who cut his teeth on classicly forged Sabatiers, bringing a German stamped blade (even finished by the genuine Swiss Army Knife craftsman) didnt seem like an option. However, having married a Swiss Miss, how could I refuse the gift of a Forschner blade? I was amazed! Granted it did not have the heft of a forged blade... but that turned out to be a welcomed advantage. I knew that European restaurants and Cooks Illustrated buy Forischer in quantity... but I was brain washed to believing that was more for economy than quality. Not so! Handling a 12 slicer is an easily acquired art... and a boon to anyone who desires to section a 12 pizza in a way that will have you toss your wheeled pizza cutter! While at first the size of this knife makes me think of the first time I got behind the wheel of a large motor home... it soon takes its user friendly place on your (recommended) magnetic knife rack. From fantastic flank steak to robust roasts, this is the knife of choice!

> 3 dayReally nice sharp, thin blade and cuts smooth. The only reason not 5 stars is the blade is a bit flexible. May not matter in the long run. Sliced thru chicken breast and ribeye with ease

Greater than one weekLets start with the bad. The plastic sheath that comes with this knife is awful at best. However I didnt buy a plastic sheath, I bought a giant slicing knife and buddy thats what I got! The knife feels great in the hand. The molded grip lends itself well to the sawing motion you make with the knife. The blade itself is the sharpest thing Ive ever held. It effortlessly cut through ham and turkey with the greatest of ease. My brother and I were trying to see who could cut the thinnest piece of ham. Turns out were goobers that were holding up the line for the the rest of the family but regardless it was amazing. I look forward to using this any chance I get!
