> 3 dayThese things are great i use them for hunting and seeing whats out in the field and they are awesome super clear to look through. They give you the case which is also a chest mount for on the go so you dont have them bouncing around on your chest with the lanyard around your neck.

> 3 dayThese are excellent binoculars. I recently purchased the Leupold BX-1 McKenzie 10x42 (not HD), the Leupold BX-2 Alpine HD (10x42) and these 8x42 Diamondbacks. Being a novice with binoculars, one thing I figured out pretty quickly is that if you want to watch birds or backyard animals 8x is a much better way to go than 10x. You dont lose that much magnification, but you gain a larger field of vision making it easier to find the target and follow the action. The Diamondbacks were also easier to focus and felt better in my hands. Very satisfied with my purchase.

> 3 dayI am very pleased with these binoculars. However, they are very similar to Nikon Prostaff 3s. I don’t think the Nikon binoculars can clearly view close up objects as well as these, but if your main purpose is bird watching/wildlife viewing those will work very well too. In hand, the Nikon Prostaff 3s have a grippy, rubber feel to them and seem to be a little lighter. The lens is more beveled, or fish-eye view, while the vortex diamondbacks are more of a flatter lens view. If I were to be nit-picky, I would choose the vortex diamondbacks only because of the guaranteed lifetime warranty. If you are on a budget and want a quality pair of binoculars, definitely look for the Nikon Prostaff 3s.

> 3 dayLet’s be clear and straight up front…..the Vortex HD Diamondback binos are NOT Zeiss or Swarovski quality glass. The Diamondback is great but not the best. I bought my 15x56s because I needed a tripod purpose bino that was going to let me see and confidently call impacts on steel at PRS matches…..out to 1000yds+. And, most importantly, fit my budget. The Diamondbacks achieve this purpose admirably. Yes….I’ve looked through Swarovski glass and it is clearer, crisper and more defined and there’s no ‘dark outer edge’ way out there, but Vortex has come to the optical table with unbeatable value. And don’t forget too….a no questions asked lifetime warranty come with any Vortex product.
