These are nice and sturdy. I was disappointed though that they didn’t come with the screws needed to install them. I guess I just assumed they did. Normally it wouldn’t matter, but you need quite a long screw - certainly 2.5”, ideally longer. That’s not a size I would typically keep so I couldn’t set up the gate without a run to the hardware store. So if you purchase make sure you have some long screws on hand.

Our baby gate was never secured to the walls properly as tightening it only led to the screw bulging the end cap to create a more centralized pressure point than the intent of the whole end disc. It kept moving around slightly if we bumped it or our daughter pulled on it. You could clearly see the damage to the walls and the indicator on the gate was never fully green, meaning it was never quite installed at proper tension. These extenders have solved our problem! The extra distance from the wall also eliminated our need for a gate extension, making it even more secure. They have no real installation as they are held up by the pressure of the gate (just put them between the gate and the wall), but using them made the gate installation easier than even the first time we put it up. The wide base provides the proper tension without any more damage to our walls, and there has been zero movement at any of the 4 pressure points. Definitely buy these when you buy your baby gate. Dont wait like we did and save your walls!

The first product I bought Didnt even cut close to want I needed. Im sure that was on me, looking at different products and stirring away from the one I wanted. I bought a 36 inch extender and was considering another 4 inch! I had about 62.5 inches to cover, Ugh I was so short, but I was able to order these 2 inch nanny extenders (4 - 2 top and 2 bottom along with another 36 inch extender w/o a gate and it fit the exact size I needed.) My dog is still a pup ( a naughty one at that) and her head can squeeze thru the edges, its only a matter of time before her head gets too big, if you have smaller dogs, get a other extender to close he gap.

We have used tons of gates over the last 18 years for dogs and our little ones. We only recently discovered the wall nanny and it works great to help keep the gate stable and in place- wish we had found it years ago so we didn’t have to paint to cover marks from gates.

These were the cheapest solution to our problem when we moved houses and none of our baby gates fit where we needed them. They saved us from having to buy new gates or full side extenders and seem to be pretty sturdy due to the grip on the back. The only problem we came across is that the walls in our new home are not very square. I purchased the larger size based on my measurements at the bottom of the stairs, but the distance between walls was less at the top (never assume your walls are evenly spaced) so I had to improvise to make it work because I did not want to purchase an additional set in the smaller size.

We have two baby gates for the dog, and the cats struggle to squeeze through the side or to jump over. I was searching for replacements with a little cat door, but we really like our existing gates. We bought a set of these and a set of the flat ones, and we were able to create the perfect side space on each gate for the cats. They help the stability was well. I couldnt be happier!

Perfect for what we needed. Extended the use of the gate to a larger stairway. Easy set up and grippy enough to hold to the wall with tension.

We’re using the Wall Nanny Extender to keep our son out of the kitchen when we cook and clean. After failing to find additional extension pieces for our tall gate (discontinued?) the Wall Nanny Extender did the trick!
