> 24 hourI bought this forever ago but never reviewed! I use this drive for gaming and it works great. Stores all my games and runs about as well as expected for an HDD. Great buy! 5/5

> 24 hourGreat portable HDD. Im using it as backup to network so it is always attached and cant speak to its portability though it is quite small. After formatting for my particular needs and getting the longer cables for my install location it is working out great. Great to have tons of storage space.

> 24 hourThis drive went through a full cycle in the laundry. We let it dry out for 24 hours and tried it out, it is working and transferring data just fine. Excellent drive. We will retire it now just to be safe, but have read other reviews that it will continue to work fine.

> 24 hourWestern Digital Passport drives have always been my go-to for a compact, no-power-chord-needed, portable storage solution with a lot of space. And most importantly, they wont cost you a fortune! I must have about 10 of these drives laying around, in different colors, across the past four generations of product. None of them have failed, and the color options help you to easily organize your projects. Buy a cheap case to go along with it, and youre all set to go!

> 24 hourim using this for my ps4 cause I had gotten the 500 gb model works like a charm for downloaded games totally worth. I dont know how it fairs for actual storage for computer/ laptop stuff but I think every console gamer PlayStation/Xbox gamer should definitely have this in their inventory XD

> 24 hourThis is a great buy for casual gamers, especially those who have just enough games but not enough space on the standard console. I use this in combination with a standard PS4. It is very easy to set up for storage and contains enough space (2TB) to keep you happily gaming (and saving) for awhile.

> 24 hourIm a photographer and I bought this drive before a 6 week trip to India. I knew that Id need a backup drive and that Id be generating a lot of data (photos, video). In the end, I didnt fill it up... I barely used 1TB, but it was good that I never felt limited in my shooting by storage options. This drive, like my other WD Passports, was simple to use.... just plug it in and it appears like any other USB thumb drive would, with no external power requirements, and it didnt take up much room in my camera backpack. While connected to my Surface, it was fast enough reading and writing that editing photos was not uncomfortably slow.

> 24 hourDidnt break or give problems when I formatted to EXFAT. So far its been trusting. Build quality is give or take. The shiny plastic part is easily scratched like all plastic and it definitely looks like Ive had it longer than I do.

> 24 hourWorking IT for decades, I always back up files to Flash/Thumb drives, but use this external drive as a clearing house... Especially while traveling. Laptops are something I go through like paper towels. Mainly, because I dont have the luxury of waiting for them to cool down before throwing them into its case. So, I Save As files onto the My Passport ONLY. Then transfer them (when I have time) onto a digital storage device. FYI, if the name wasnt already taken... they should have called it Timex (takes a licking and keeps on ticking)... Well, a hard drive ticking really isnt a good thing, but you get what I mean.

> 24 hourBought this to use as long term storage for essential files including documents, photos and videos. Decision factors included cost/storage capacity, portability, USB 3.0 compliance, generally good user reviews and manufacturer reputation/track record. Have used an older 1TB My Passport external USB interface drive for about 7 or 8 years with no issues. Am expecting high-level of durability with appropriate handling and care. Of course time will tell. I never use bundled software on hard drives, and so cannot speak to this. On first plug-in this My Passport was immediately recognized on my Linux Mint 18.3 and 19.1 systems, which are primary production systems. It was not recognized immediately on Windows 10. It appeared in the connected hardware icon in the system tray, but not in File Explorer. Using Administrative Tools in Control Panel was able to assign a drive letter. That assignment now persists across reboots and the drive is recognized routinely in W10.
