14-06-2025It made my ps5/ps4 games load much faster when I transferred them to this drive. It was also super simple to install. If you are installing into a ps5 you don’t have to use that much force to get the cover off. If you are, you are doing it wrong.

> 3 dayThis works perfectly in my PS5, 1TB really adds a lot of space for games. Seems to be just as fast as the built in memory. Incredibly easy to install, just watch a youtube video on how to remove the plates on your PS5.

14-06-2025After buying a PS5, I knew that I would need extra storage for future downloads. Item had good reviews, so I went with this. 2TB worked for me on PS4, so I went with this version for PS5. Arrived within a week and setup was easy, thanks to the tutorial video thats on this site. Go with the heatsink, as your system can overheat without it. Enjoying my system and couldnt be happier. Happy Gaming.

Greater than one weekI was excited to get this new memory for my PS5 and add storage space to it, but for whatever reason, from day one, I had problems with it. The PS5 read it and formatted it from the get go like it should, but then when Id try to transfer games from the internal drive to the WD, the system would shut down without warning. I rebuilt the system, cleared the cache, reformatted the SN850X and it would still continue to shut my console off without warning. I found I could leave a game downloading from online and it would install it, but when Id go to play it, again, the system would abruptly shut down. Im not saying I wouldnt recommend this, since I feel maybe I got a defective drive. Ive been using the Samsung 980 Pro with heatsink and have not a single issue with it. Ive even transferred multiple games at the same time to it from the console without any problems. Maybe it was just my luck that I got a bad drive from WD?
