> 24 houri saved some money by buying an open-box item from Amazon Warehouse. its easy to get caught up in all of the technical details of read/write speed/etc there are so many factors that affect the drives performance. im using this drive installed in an OWC external USB-C drive enclosure and connected through an OWC USB-C hub to my 2020 MacBook Air M1 and it works great as an external boot drive. I do not have any issues with this set up. the laptop boots timely from the external drive and works fine for my needs.

> 24 hourVery happy with this drive. The prices on memory just keeps coming down. I expected to pay $20-50 more for a known brand. I was glad I checked the transfer speed as I was able to get this unit for just a couple of more bucks than another well-known brands unit that was quite a bit slower. One thing that I wish I had known is that the mirror-image software that comes with it (WD-specific Acronis) may not work with an external USB adapter if thats what you are using to prep the drive for use in your new computer. Acronis wouldnt recognize the drive in my adapter. Fortunately, that problem was solved by using the free version of Macrium and the new drive has my computer up and working well again
